I gave Public eat + drink a lower score because they serve their beer in 10oz water glasses. It feels insulting to me, a beer geek, when a place serves all other drinks in their appropriate glassware but beer is relegated to water glass status. I'll pass on this establishment from now on.

This place has made my occasional visits to family in Williamstown and North Adams much more of a pleasure than they ever used to be. First came here for a family birthday party for Great-aunt Mary, with 18 Florini relatives just loving the food and drink in a new gastropub across the street from the parking lot where the Florini Family Restaurant used to be. The beers on tap were dynamite then, and have continued to be the best you could want anywhere. Our large group had a great time, were served with speed, care and precision, and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Since the first visit, my returns have continued to make me glad to eat + drink there. A short walk from Mass MoCA, this place will serve your burger truly rare with fries just as crispy as you ask for. The fried squid is dynamite, too. Local cheeses, yes!!! And you can be sure they'll have an IPA worth drinking. The spirit of Uncle Moose Florini, restauranteur extraordinaire, lives on in this foodie neighborhood.

Went in after a show at Mass Moca, Busy Saturday crowd.
Tap list was solid and well curated, 11 draft and 20 bottles.
Food was outstanding, the appetizer was sized well, main dish was fresh and delightful
I enjoyed an Evil Twin pale ale, then a Great Divide Pilsner. Both were spot on, no off flavors.
Service was attentive and not over bearing, very nice folks.

We will certainly return.

Cheers all

Public Eat & Drink is one of my family's favorite restaurants.

First, I will start with the beer. They have an ever-rotating tap list. I have had Ommegang Abbey Ale, Habanero Sculpin, Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro among others there in the past. Lately, they have had beers from semi-local breweries such as North Adam's own Bright Ideas, Hermit Thrush, Building 8 Brewing and so forth. They do a great job of making 12 taps feel like a whole lot more by keeping their tap list rotating and interesting.

The atmosphere is great as well, in a recently renovated older building with brick walls, tall ceilings and cool round glasses.

Their food is great as well. They are one of few places that will do their burgers medium-rare, and they have the best burgers in the area as well. I would recommend the Brie Burger -- sounds like a weird combination, but it's great. They also make everything there from scratch, and do a very good job with it.

This place was a much needed addition to North Adams. I am often surprised by the quality of their craft selection, having lived in the area for 5+years I have come to expect that the only craft beer options will be BBC SteelRail and a SamAdams Seasonal. With quickly rotating taps of FirestoneWalker, Stone, BBC, Victory, GooseIsland, BearRepublic, and many others I am a happy customer. Decent bottle list too but it doesn't change nearly as quick as their taps. They are very good about updating their online tap list. Thanks Public!

Public Eat & Drink is mine and my wife's new favorite restaurant. We have been a number of different times and recommended it to our friends. Every time I have gone there have been new beers on tap and even though I haven't ordered a bottle the selection of those is varied enough to satisfy the needs of every one no matter what he taste buds are looking for. We are more than willing to drive the distance to enjoy the ambience, food and drink at Public. Enjoy. I have been exposed to a number of new beer flavors from the Octoberfests to Pumpkins and Summers.
