Bottled on November 23rd, 2010.

Color of the beer is copper, as all the other beers in that series. Nice white head on top, and it is very sticky. Aroma presents notes of citrus and grapefruits. Nice aroma, and very inviting. No traces of alcohol in the nose. Taste wise it is awesome. The beer is sweet with citrus notes. The bitterness is very timid. For this kind of beer, I would have expected more bitterness. I guess they have put lots of malts that lower the bitterness from the hops. Excellent 2IPA. Very full body. Drinkability is high even though the high level of alcohol. Nicely done again by Charlevoix.

Microbrasserie de Charlevoix give out a certain amount of limited editions during the year. This one, the Centennial as the name says is only brewed with centinnial hops. They also have other unique hop brews such as Simcoe, Amarillo, Columbus and so on..all in double IPA form.
I served this beer in a Weizen glass.
It is dark gold and clear. Alot of bubbles and a nice head shows this is a healthy beer.
It smells pretty nice, Alot of spices, coriander and cardamom with of course the hop kick is very present and you get a hint of malt in there as well

The Centennial is very bitter at the first sip, when your palate gets used to it, it becomes very clean and flavourful. you get grappefruit peals, malt sweetness and a little metalic taste as well.
Leaves your mouth bone dry. The hop aromas stick there for quite some time. take another sip..its worth it...
Will buy again and will compare with other unique hop editions.

Cheers lads

A: As always with this one, it is a very impressive looking beer. Perfectly translucent amber colo with a good creamy, cream white head with good retention and lacing.

S: Strong orange zest comes upfront with strong aromas of pine. Tons of unsweetened yellow grapefruit juice is in the smell as well as some pineapples. Good amounts of biscuit and caramel malts.

T: Strong pine hops presence upfront with good amounts of pineapples. The citrusy aromas are still there in the taste in the same way they were in the smell: unsweetened yellow grapefruit juice and orange zest. Then there is a strong malty presence in the form of biscuit and honey.

M: A bit bigger than expected with medium heavy body with medium to low carbonation. Would have preferred something a bit ligther.

D: IPA's are usually easy to drink and this one follows the rule.

Bottle thanks to ZorPrime, cheers Eric! Pint glass, bottled on November 23, 2010.

Pours a transparent golden orange, with several fingers of just off-white and dense head. Mild retention but great lace. Lots of orange and citrus in the nose, pine as well. Hops are right at the forefront. Malt sweetness is known well through the nose as well. Taste is bitter upfront, less pine but the citrus is still strong and real juicy, mostly orange and tangerine. Lots of honey type sweetness too, malt dominates the palate for the most part after the initial hop bite. Dry and fairly resin-y finish begs for another sip, but the carbonation is slightly underwhelming. High drinkability here, alcohol is well hidden but certainly creeps up on you.
