16 oz.

Pours jet black, tan ring for a head.

Smells of light biscuit, toffee and a hint of brine.

Tastes of biscuit, brown sugar, toast and toffee.

Medium feel, tingly carbonation on the tongue.

Decent stout, drinks easy. Flavor is mild. Nothing super spectacular but glad I had it.

This is the base beer for one of my allllll time favorite BA stouts and it doesn't let down on the non BA version. Thick, black and non see througj. Smells of roasty malts and chocolate. Taste mirrors the smell just more intense. Overall, find this and drink it. Also, enjoy the brewers company, he's cool shit!

Bought from good ol' Market Basket and poured from bomber bottle into a stout glass (Christmas present from both my mother-in-law and aunts-in-law).

L- Nearly pitch black with a tad bit of mahogany, a deep tan head that dissipates quickly. (4)

S- Dark fruit, cherry, slight booze influence. Roasted malts, dark chocolate thrown in as well. (4)

T- Roasted malts right off the bat (a welcome taste). There is a sweet note to it, dark chocolate, slight coffee hint. The fruity aroma does not come through as much in the taste, but this is a rather impressive stout. (4.5)

F- Here's where it clunks a little bit. The body is a bit thin for a stout, more on the porter side. I was expecting more of a smoother mouthfeel to it. (3.5)

O- Despite the off-putting mouth feel, this is a nice stout. It has the roasted flavors one comes to expect from a stout, it has a simple yet complex flavor profile that I like, and it is rather affordable for a local craft beer. (4.25)

Pour is a dark brown cola like color with a tight light caramel colored head. Nose is heavy roast and char with a light bit of dark malt and a faint touch of fudge. Taste is even more heavily charred and a bit acrid. Some malt berry sweetness in the back and a hint sugary behind all the char. Medium to light body, slightly slick up front, well carbonated and fairly dry.
