Very cloudy orange pour with a large, creamy head, almost like a wheat beer. Strong smell of pine, orange, tangerine. Sweet hop bite and a juicy citrus backbone. Huge ABV hidden very well. Strong taste yet still refreshing. Top flight stuff. I’m quite certain this would do real well in a blind taste test, but this unknown brewery has no hype or buzz yet.

In a pint glass this beer was a hazy cherry amber color with a thick off-off white head. There was great retention of the head, and it was quite sticky.

Sweet malt aroma. Pina and citrus hops.

A lot of caramel in the taste. Grapefruit. A little bit of piney hops.

Not that hoppy, more malty. Not that IPAish.

Nice enough.

From the 22 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on March 11, 2012. The brewer tells me the ABV is "up to 9%." It pours an attractive amber-copper with a whole lot of fluffy off-white head. Unlike some IPA's the hop aroma is subtle and well-balanced on the nose with the sweet malts and light citrus. It is the way IPA's should smell as far as I am concerned. The body is a little better than medium and creamy. The hops are more evident in the taste but not until after that first sip of sweet bready malts. This is one I could have often.

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass. No obvious dating on the bottle.

An off white, hinting at yellow head, quite large off the pour. Settles fairly good speed though, with lots of swiss cheese like appearances. Body is kind of murky dark brown amber, hints at red.

Nose is subtle airy herbal hops. Kind of minty. Caramel like malts and light sugar brown dark clove/nutmeg spices.

Palate hits with a good body. Full rich coating feel in the mouth, very solid, and minimal carbonation feeling considering how much the head just exploded almost it seemed. Light mix of tea and herbal hop action, still very downplayed and subtle. Light toasty quality but with a much thicker density.

Overall feels pretty good, not bad, not very drawn to it though, but could have it again if I had to choose.

Obviously unfiltered. Translucent pumpkin pie filling brown-orange color. Towering head almost jumps out of my glass. Thick retention like a pile of soap scum. Lots of the aforementioned stuck to the glass.

Aroma is tropical fruit candy, soft pine and raw pizza dough.

Sweet and malty with lots and lots of caramel. Tropical fruit hops. Too sweet and not hoppy enough. Like a raw English barleywine. Not sure what the abv is but the OG is 1.080.

This was a drain pour.

Pours a three finger off-white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Hazy amber color, some floaties. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Hoppy nose and flavor is piney hops and some caramel. The 9.2% ABV is hidden. Given the high ABV expecting but not getting an Imperial IPA. $6.99 for a 22oz bottle from Market Basket Concord, NH.

Poured from a bomber and served in a tumbler pint, the beer is a hazy, muddled, copper-orange coloring with no head whatsoever. Pours thick. Aromas of rich maple and caramel, with some roasted apple highlights and a resiny, dark hops overtone. Flavors are light, and a bit watered down. Mid-bodied brew gives rise to a slightly smokey, roasted caramel malt backbone with a fresh hopped, dark green bitter character and a slight touch of tangy, slightly sweet lemon and pineapple. The aftertaste is also light, with more of the fruit profiles coming through. The finish is a slick, somewhat watery, muddled blend of slight bitterness and fruit sweetness. I was looking for something a little more hop forward, as most IPAs tend to be. Decent beer, and the guy at the beer store told me this was a new recipe for this brew. Maybe some more tweaking is in order.

Pours a deep orange brown amber color with a huge creamy off white head that persists forever. Smells of citrus and pine with enough caramel and toffee to provide some balance. Taste is malty with brown sugar and caramel off set with some pine and citrus. Grapefruit apricots resin and a little bit of sharp astringency. It's a bit on the sweet side for me. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation and a sweet almost syrupy mouthfeel. I'm not digging this one as much as their other beers. Its a bit dark for the style, its a bit sweet, and it could really use some more hop flavor and aroma. Not bad, but could be better.

Reviewed from notes dated October 13th, 2013. I remember drinking this in our suite at the Common Man Inn in Claremont, NH (although I picked up the bottle earlier in the morning in Portsmouth, NH).

Appearance: cloudy, soft yellow body; fluffy, billowy white head.

Smell: mellow grain with hints of pear; cereal; orange.

Taste: little malt character but plenty of hop bitterness; grassy.

Mouthfeel: soft & fizzy; dry.

A rather so-so IPA. Mostly a hop-forward beer as far as smell and taste go. Very little malt character. One-dimensional; unbalanced. If hops w/o malt is your thing, try this one.

An OK IPA, aroma was mellow, not too much going on. The taste was OK, but nothing close to what I was expecting in an IPA, it was well balanced, but very little hope nose, bitterness was not remarkable. The malt was light and biscuity, a little "dusty" in the finish. Overall, pleasant, but nothing special.

It seemed more of a blonde ale that an IPA (or dbl IPA at the 9% ABV).

The most remarkable feature, to me, was the absolute lack of alcohol presence in a beer that strong. I'd drink it again, but it's not the first bottle I'd choose.
