This place lives up to everything you read about it. It's only downfall is most of the time they don't have food. Atmosphere is great with a nice mix of customers. Maps and globes all over (thus the map room) with a ton of different types of beer advertisements covering the rest of the wall space.
They don't have servers here, but the bartenders were excellent. When I asked for a Cantillion Organic Gueuze, they asked if I had it before. When I said know they gave me a taste without me asking knowing that it is a unusual taste for a beer. While I knew what I was ordering, this is great customer service.
Selection here is top notch. They have a couple german pilsners to appease the light beer crowd and tons of great beers to please even the biggest beer snob. 300 bottles and 24 taps. Among the taps when I was there were Great Lakes Commodore Perry IPA, Racer 5, Hop Rod Rye, St Bernardus (yum), Cantillion Organic Gueuze, Maudite and Two Hearted on the beer engine! All this and the prices were cheaper than I expected. $6 for a St B Abt 12 chalice. In fact, almost everything was served in the breweries' own glassware.
If you go to Chicago, make sure not to miss this place.

This bar has international personality, a true "travelers tavern". Exceptional draft program showcasing domestic and European brews equally. Their bottled list offers 100+ selections from all over the world. If you stay too long they have you covered to recover with a full espresso and coffee bar.
