Spent Saturday night here--one of many trips. This one was special, however. I had five amazing beers--perhaps one too many, but still. A zwickelbier from Stiegl which was top notch, Drie Fonteinen Oude Gueuze, Fantome Saison, St. Martin Triple, and a Flanders Red that had just been tapped--I overheard the bartender mention it to someone else while I was waiting to order, and nabbed one without hearing its name. Seriously one of the best beer nights of my life.
My only ding is that it's too damn loud. Map Room is ideal on a weekday, after work--much less crowded. Service is occasionally slow, too, as you have to order at the bar. Otherwise, the bartenders are usually efficient, and often quite nice. Most patrons are in it for the beer, and it's easy to talk to someone sitting at the bar, if you manage to hear one another. Selection is unparalleled in the city--I think they even have Hopleaf beat, because things rotate much more frequently here, with broader emphasis than just Belgians. Some prices are high, but given the beers you can find here, no Chicago beer geek should complain.

Opens at 6am for coffee and pastries. Starts serving beer at 11am. This place is absolutely lovely during the day with open windows during nice days. I, personally, avoid the weekends and nights. Too many amatuers. World class beer list and a very nice staff.
