Located in the midst of the Grand Targhee Ski Resort, this bar opens around lunch time. While many people don't get in from skiing until 3-4pm, they always welcome craft beer drinkers or those who just need a breather and a good scotch on the rocks. I came here four separate times and was impressed with both their beer selection and also how friendly the staff were. This is only the beginning of my review...
Coming up to catch some air, you are greeted with Grand Teton Brewing Company Snow Boards & Trap Bar & Grill Long Boards (not sure if you could buy these off the wall or not). There was also a special every day we came in on a chalkboard whether it was beer discounts or grub. They had a "Trap Mug Club" with drink specials and you get to keep your mug behind the bar. Since I was only here for a week, it wouldn't have made much sense to partake in this. The best part of their vibe was their music though. The first two nights, Molly Gene (the one-woman-band from Missouri), rocked out and really brought a crowd! The other two days, one of the servers from Monday and Tuesday performed an acoustic set on stage. How talented? We then didn't show up on our last day to the Trap but there was a Whisky Tasting!?!?
Every brew was served in a pint glass but didn't bother me. Some friends ordered their Spiced Cider (w/ Sailor Jerry's), and these were delicious as well! Had a great beer selection AND full drink menu. Servers were very prompt, would stay and chat and never had to wait for a drink. They knew when you were thirsty.
With all of the specials happening, FREE live music (which I would have gladly paid cover for this talent), and great time in a cool place, a very inexpensive experience. Would definitely recommend coming in here!
