Came to Tony's while staying in Alta, WY during a SkiTrip. Heard their pizza was out of this world, so went with friends and family. The outside of the place has a sign hung saying "Tony's Italian Restaurant" but this was an old sign. The new name is above (Tony's Pizza & Pasta). Wood, cabin like features from the outside, now lets take a look inside!
Walking in, you are immediately greeted by their kitchen and ARE allowed to take peeks at what they're in the process of making. Wooden cabin like throughout and has a giant map of the Grand Teton Mountain (especially from the Grand Targhee side) on the left side of the dining area. Past this is the bar with over 30 brews on-tap and mugs held from a rack (mug-club program?).
We were some of the only ones dining in that night, so couldn't tell you much about the crowd who comes in but very inviting. There were a few sitting at the bar, enjoying beer but we all decided to stay out in the dining area and enjoy the company of each other.
Ordering by the pitcher, it was MUCH easier to serve ourselves beer out of the pint. Our server was very prompt and informative but didn't want to test it with beer. After asking what Grand Teton brews they had on-tap and she had to check with the bartender, we decided to make her job easy. Friendly though!
Grand Teton, Deschutes, and Kona were just a few of the awesome craft beers they offered on-tap. You could tell A.B. had a huge presence here because of their neon signs and over 5 were theirs. No problem, just not interested.
I suggest ANY of their pizza! We ordered a Margarita, Chicken w/ Garlic and pineapple, and Pepperoni w/ Sausage. If I were to take a vote, the Chicken is what I would go with. I wouldn't recommend starting with a salad for there were only a few pieces of lettuce with then broccoli, carrots, and other random vegetables covered with dressing. Go straight to the pizza!
Enjoyed this place GREATLY and wish we could have came back for lunch. It looks like they have plenty to offer and if the pizza was as delicious as it was, other dishes would have to be likewise.
