A sample glass at Beer Revolution. I somehow neglected to inquire as to the etymological origins of the rustic-sounding name.

This beer appears a clear, pale golden amber hue, with one finger of thin foamy white head, which leaves a decent specter of dotty painted lace as it duly settles.

It smells of middling citrus hops, and caramel/vanilla malt. The taste is fairly active citrus, leafy hops, bready caramel malt, and a subtle booze warming.

The carbonation is well rendered , the body a sturdy medium weight, and everyman smooth. It finishes decently hoppy, and adequately malty.

A good house offering in the pale ale category - no weak sauce here. A mildly dumbed down version of Brewsters' Rig Pig, perhaps?

One of the house brands at Beer Revolution, in Calgary. I assume it is being brewed by the next door neighbor Brewster's.
Clear, dark yellow gold, with a sparse white head. Foam leaves a trickle of lace, quickly shrinks to a floating cap.
It smells of some hops, a bit citrus, grapefruit.
The taste has a decent amount of hop bitterness, some caramel malt sweetness to balance. Finished with an aftertaste of leafy or earth hops.
Medium body and mouth feel, lots of carbonation bubbles, but not quite enough to keep the head.
A decent pale ale, I assume I will re-visit when (if ever) the Beer Revolution tap list doesn't have anything else I am interested in - but that maybe a long while.

Note to self: During our last visit, this is no longer an option. Lucky Penny and Peach Fuzz are the 2 house brands on the beer board.
