We had a single open spot on the schedule and told BeeJay he could brew whatever his little bearded heart desired. The result of his labors (and what some professionals call insanity) is BeeJay's Weirdo Brown Ale. We asked him what he wanted to hop it with and he just kept yelling "ALL OF THE NESLON!" We obliged him and the result is a delicious hoppy imperial brown ale with lovely aromas of tangerine, passion fruit and grapefruit. Don't sleep on this guy, it was a very small batch.

Pipeworks Beejay's Weirdo Brown Ale
Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a CBS snifter. Served chilled...
A) Brown brew with a little red tint when held to light. Nearly a finger of soapy head. Settled to a wispy dusting. Nice lacing.
S) Earthy, woody, some citrus. There is a little toffee sweetness. Some spices and some light alcohol too.
T) I like what the Nelson Sauvin hops are doing with the flavor. Nice malty toasty flavors, with spicy, earthy hops. A little citrus too. Bitter finish... The 9.5% ABV is noted as well.
M) Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Bitter finish that is slightly dry. Some alcohol warmth.
O) A very unique brew that really grew on me with each passing sip. Definitely worth a try.
