Notes/Commercial Description:
Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you want to drink a dark, rich, delicious coconut and almond flavored beer. (Let's be honest, for us it's both...all the time.) We took our base Abduction and added cacao nibs, vanilla bean, toasted coconut and almond. The result is a deeply complex brew that will linger with you long after you're done drinking it. Delicious now but also a prime candidate for a prolonged rest in your temperature controlled catacomb of choice.

Nice black malted pour with a hazy mocha froth you'd love to scoop out with a spoon and eat it.

Aroma upfront is prominent cocoa nibs, which I'm a fan of and eat out of a bag for snacking. Malt balls covered in dark chocolate and a lingering cola. Chocolate covered raisins come to mind. A palatable toastiness of coconut. Vanilla and almond extract.

Taste is rich. Raisin purée and dark bitter cocoa. Can't say I'm picking up on coconut but the toasty component is evident. Cola vanilla ice cream float. Coffee and malta (a spanish drink).

Body is lush, luxurious, slick, and velourish. Heavier texture and sugar residues keep you licking your lips.

The entire experience is so enjoyable. Olfactory nerves are tantalized. Taste buds are comforted with the tasty chocolate treats in life. What I love about this beer is that alcohol is not disturbing it. Today I needed just that. Bang up brew.

A- motor oil black with a tan head

S- toasty almonds, coconut, coco.

T- beautiful coconut flavor, coco, toasty almonds, vanilla and hints of coffee. Mild bitterness to balance the sweetness out.

M- medium-full bodied with a bit more carbonation than I expected for an imperial stout. Not a bad thing tho!

O- another fantastic brew from pipeworks. This is a local brew for me and I love it.

Dark brown like a chocolate tootsie pop. Slow rising head, thin, and little retention.

Cocoa, light toasted coconut, and almond.

The toasted coconut really pops in the flavor and makes for a great combo with the sweet cocoa and slightly bitter nutty flavor.

The mouthfeel is vet smooth with low but appropriate carbonation.

Another great addition to the abduction series. The coconut addition is spot on, not overpowering but still comes strong.

Pours a very dark brown with what almost looks like a red hue to it, but could have been the light I'm in. Very thick, looks delicious.

The aroma of roasted malts and light fruity coconut is a real treat!

Perfect amount of roasted malts upfront, soon followed by some creaminess from the coconut, and a little bit o' booze to finish.

Mouthfeel is rich, thick, and freaking delicious!

Overall this one of my favorites thus far from the Abduction lineup!

22 oz. bottle, with Batch #383-385 printed on the label. Another new variant on the beloved Pipeworks Abduction stout. Expectations are excellent based on this knowledge, and since pretty much all the other variants I've had were amazing.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A - Pours a thick syrupy mahogany colored body; opaque in the glass with three big creamy fluffy fingers of dark mocha head. Leaves behind nice thick lacing. Looks amazing.

S - The aroma is truly wonderful; this thing smells like it spent time in a barrel. Decadent roasty chocolate / cacao, silky vanilla, cream, fudge / cookie dough, some earthy woodsy qualities, and some mild alcohol content. Not pulling out any distinct coconut or almond aromas, but they are usually hard to detect anyhow. Some subtle indistinct sort of 'nutty' aroma does begin to creep out as the beer warms.

T - Taste follows the nose - creamy chocolate / cacao, silky vanilla, roasty coffee / chocolate bitterness, & mild alcohol heat.

M - The feel is smooth, silky, and creamy. Medium-full bodied with excellent low lying carbonation. Sticky and lightly bitter on the finish, with some lingering warmth.

Overall, another excellent variant on the landmark stout from Pipeworks; and I continue to look forward to many many more of these, as they have all been excellent and well worth drinking. Highly recommended if you can get this; and I would definitely be interested to see what some age would do to mellow out some of the warmth in one of these bottles.
