22 oz. bottle, with Batch #293 296 printed on the label. My second wheat wine style ale from Pipeworks, this one aged with oranges and spices.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - Pours a nice bright burnt sienna orange, not nearly as dark as the Pipeworks Easter Bunny Vs Unicorn was. Just over a finger of frothy khaki head that goes down quick. Some scattered lacing. Not amazing looking, but it looks good.

S - The smell is good, but not great. Muted herbal spicing takes center stage, some faint orange peel, mild alcohol fumes, but mostly lots of indistinct spice rack notes dominate - oregano, clove, thyme. A bit of trademark Pipeworks creaminess.

T - The taste follows the nose - citric orange, hop bitterness, mild alcohol, indistinct herbal spice rack notes, bready wheat, but nothing that would overly identify this beer as a "wheatwine".

M - Feel is smooth and creamy. Medium-full bodied. Slightly thick, but with good carbonation.

Overall, a nice beer from Pipeworks. Not a style I am too familiar with, but I'd say Pipeworks put a nice twist to it. The alcohol content is slightly noticeable, but very drinkable at 10.00% abv. Very glad to have gotten to try it, but it's probably not a beer I would have again.

Pipeworks Elijah's Revival ---4/5.

Batch #293296. Poured from a bomber into a snifter, the beer is a bright, vibrant, hazed, ruby-copper coloring with a thin, tightly bubbled, halo of off-white head. Aromas of pineapple, apricot, orange zest, and a subtle spice blend layer on the initial sniff, with a smooth and grainy backbone, some cinnamon and coriander spice, candied sugar, and a subtle booze note noticeable the more you dig your nose in. Flavors are robust and rich forward, with a smooth ribbon of tropical fruit highlighted with vanilla cream. Wow, pretty damn tasty. An almost immediate warmth hits your palate and throat, as well, but washes away in a slow fade. Woody notes, subtle spices (again), and a toasted bread backbone support all these transitions occurring on your palate. Smooth in mouth initially, but kept with a slight edge thanks to a slow, steady flow of carbonation throughout. The aftertaste is like candied fruit, with the pineapple, apricot, orange peel, and other sweet notes coming off with a slightly candied character. It's nice. The finish is slightly cloying, but again the carbonation cleans up just enough to keep things smooth and friendly. The increased ABV is hidden very well throughout, with the only nod given in the initial warmth you get. Solid brew!

Appearance: Color is a dark burnt orange color. Light head on the pour and present on the edges of the glass while drinking. Some active carbonation while drinking. No lacing.

Smell: Orange peel, nutmeg, leafy greens, and heavy spices. A subtle wheat body but there is no doubt the orange peel and thick spices dominate here. The cloves and vegetal aromas also are present throughout.

Taste: Fruity hoppy tones, dry spices, and sweet oranges come through first. Cloves, mild wheat, and smooth malt tones run throughout the body. The finish is some lingering sour tones, dry wheat and hops.

Mouthfeel: Primarily dry on the palate with some spiced tones as well.

Overall: This beer gets dominated by the aged characteristics. Tons of oranges and spices all over the aroma and taste. The wheatwine of the beer seems to get primarily lost. Some interesting things going on but overall just okay.
