Pours dark brown, pretty much black in color and solid, no light makes it through. Head is thin tan and retains nicely.

There is a bi amount of chocolate and mint that both smell relatively nicely balanced. More chocolate malt is detectable on the backend and there is a lingering presence of more mint and a slightly herbal and spicy hop presence that is almost undetectable.

Taste is pretty good. Mint, chocolate and a decent rich malty sweetness work well in unison in the front end of the beer. They work well to give the beer a more dessert feel that helps soften the aggressiveness of the mint.

Mouthfeel is rich creamy smooth and fairly sticky with sweetness. (669 characters)

All the brews in this series are worth picking up if you can get your hands on em. (82 characters)

A- Dark, dark , dark with think tan head
S- Straight up thin mints. Seriously, this beer smells amazing to me.
T - Wow, cream de menthe. Sweet base beer blends well with a bit of an artificial mint, but the girl scouts should watch out for this shit.
F- Nice thickness to the body like all of the abduction series
O- I wasn't expecting much due to the low scores, but I was impressed. Creamy, minty, coco. (409 characters)

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Thick and viscous looking. Nice mocha head. Leggy with a medium collar.

Smell - Mint, but not peppermint. More of a leafy fresh mint. Chocolate. Lots of caramel.

Taste - The mint flavor is very herbal. Definitely the most dominant. Milk chocolate. Nutty caramel malts. Finish is a leafy mint aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Medium heavy and chewy. Substantial stout. Medium carbonation.

Overall - I thought this would be more of a peppermint. The mint flavor doesn't work great, but it isn't bad. (543 characters)

Dark brown, nearly black. Aggressive tan head, huge and frothy. Good retention.

The mint is barely detectable in the aroma, which is a disappointment to me. Light herbal tones, but doesn't have a fresh mint smell. Chocolate and a musty smell as well.

The mint barley shows up. More leafy than a fresh, clean mint, and with the roast makes it more earthy than the chocolaty mint dessert I was hoping for.

As with all the abductions, nice smooth and thick mouthfeel. Carbonation is just right.

The least likable of the abductions to date, in my opinion. I was hoping for so much more but was just meh. (606 characters)

Pours dark brown/black with a thin, but lathery light khaki half finger of foam.

A blast of chocolate and mint explode at first whiff. Some roast, vanilla, and burnt sugar to note as well.

Roasted chocolate malt, green mint, vanilla, kind of like an Andes mint.

Heavy-bodied, medium carbonation, roasty bitterness, rather thin for my taste.

Overall, I wasn't really quite sure I'd be a fan of this since mint isn't necessarily my thing, but it was surprisingly toned down in comparison to what I had anticipated. An interesting brew and mighty tasty, just a bit thin for my liking. (585 characters)

22 oz. bottle, with Batch #353/54/55 printed on the label. My fourth variant of this stout from Pipeworks. Expectations are high based on this knowledge; these guys have quickly become one of my favorite breweries, if not my favorite altogether.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - Pours a dark chocolate; opaque black in the glass with just under a finger of mocha head that dies down quickly. Some thin sticky lacing. Looks pretty nice.

S - The cool breeze of mint hits hard right away. Almost perceived as "medicinal" in the beginning just because I'm not used to smelling it in beer, but this thing smells like a chocolate covered peppermint candy. Silky chocolate, cream, and vanilla notes are layered underneath.

T - The mint isn't as apparent on the taste as it was on the nose, but it is still nicely integrated. Dark roasty chocolate, cream, lactose, vanilla, and the herbal spicy mint leaves. The high 10.50% abv isn't noticeable at all.

M - Smooth and creamy. Sugary and sticky. Lightly roasty and bitter.

Overall, another wonderful stout from Pipeworks, and a nice dessert beer. Definitely drinks like the beer equivalent to a chocolate-peppermint candy. Definitely a unique and interesting variant, worth seeking out.
