We brewed this beer in collaboration with Bad Apple Bar to celebrate their 5 yr birthday celebration. It's a wheat pale brewed with green cardamom, black currants, and ginger. The result is a spicy and tart brew that pairs really well with food, or at least we think so. The label art is by PW friend Peter Wano.

22 oz. bottle, with Batch #471/472 printed on the label. The latest creation from Pipeworks, this one a collaboration with The Bad Apple. An interesting premise "wheat pale ale brewed with ginger, cardamom, apples, and black currants'.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A - It pours a murky orange-reddish-brown colored body. Less than a finger of reddish-tan colored head. Lots of scattered lacing. Very juicy looking, that's for sure. Looks very nice.

S - The smell is very fresh, juicy, and unique also. The cinnamon, ginger, and apples are all very apparent players. The black currant adds a sort of cranberry aroma to the mix.

T - Taste is very unique, fruity, juicy, and delicious. A perfect blend of juicy ginger, apples, and cinnamon spice. Again, the black currants give it a sort of berry / vinous taste. The apples are a big player here, but I'm not sure if "cidery" would be the right way to describe it.

M - The feel is crisp, smooth, & juicy. A mostly clean finish, lightly sticky.

Overall, another unique and original beer from Pipeworks; delicious as always, and exceptionally drinkable for the high abv. Highly recommended.

I am a huge fan of Pipeworks and love most everything they do. However, this beer really missed the mark for me. The ginger was way too present on the nose and in the taste and it was just completely out of place for me.

I didn't really get any apple flavors at all and the cardamom didn't mesh with the ginger in my opinion. My friend compared the smell to that of kitty litter so maybe Kwingston's box was near the mash tank. This beer didn't work for me but this is just one man's opinion.
