A best friend came back from Michigan to visit for the weekend so I wanted to treat him right with some great local brews.

First pour, dark golden yellow that looks crisp and no sediment. Second pour (for my friend) looked like an entirely different beer that was bright sun yellow and entirely opaque with a light yellow cloudiness (wow, there's a lot of sediment in this I was even very careful on the second pour). So I ended up evening out the sediment between the two glasses.

Smells heavily of pineapple and a little smokiness from the grill, very tropical and hoppy.

This is freaking amazing! Hands down the best pineapple brew I've ever consumed. All others I have tried are all the same, fermented fruit funk with a slight hint of pineapple (if any pineapple to note), but this, this is straight up pineapple in a glass and the grilled aspect gives it a whole new life.

Mouthfeel is smooth, tart, and incredibly refreshing, a wonderful summer beer.

Overall, like I said before, hands down the best pineapple beer I've had, ever.

750 ml bottle, with Batch #469/470 printed on the label. Another new Golden Ale creation from the geniuses at Pipeworks, this one brewed with grilled pineapple. Talk about a unique premise. Expectations are excellent given Pipeworks' reputation for great beers.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A - It pours a pale straw yellow, but appears a darker murkier golden color in the glass. One finger of bubbly white head that fades away quickly. Leaves behind thin scattered lacing.

S - Floral / herbal Belgian spice content, lots of pungent fruity yeast, and a bit of smoke / char on the finish. A very unique & pleasant aroma.

T - Taste follows the nose - a crazy amalgamation of flavor. Floral / Belgian spices, earthy yeast, and lots of juicy fruity pineapple paired with the peaty / charred / smoked element. Very delicious.

M - The feel is smooth & juicy. Medium bodied with excellent carbonation.

Overall, another interesting and unique beer creation from Pipeworks. These guys thoroughly continue to impress me. Extremely juicy, drinkable, and delicious. The 10.00% abv is hardly noticeable. Absolutely delicious, and highly recommended.

750ml bottle shared by Andrew - thanks. Batch # 469/470.

A: Pours a hazy pale yellow with a half-inch thick white head which fades quickly to the rim leaving spotty lace.

N: Peaches and apricots, fruity, pineapple, Belgian yeasty esters, cloves, and mild sweetness.

T: Follows nose with more pineapple and sweet estery yeast.

M: Light body and light carbonation. ABV is hidden. Finishes herbal, yeasty and fruity.

O: Huh, this is surprisingly interesting.

Thanks to drewone for sharing this one at his tasting.

Batch # 469/470.

Pours a murky light orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, spice, Belgian yeast, and slight fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, spice, and Belgian yeast flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice and yeast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but I am not getting any distinct pineapple aromas or flavors.

Serving type: bottle.
