A Elijah Craig Bourbon barrel aged Imperial Porter (As You Wish)
TKK - In my own story, you are roaring off into the unknown on a grand quest, with beer and bacon to nourish and nary a green vegetable for miles. One day, I’ll read that book aloud to you. Go then, my love, there are other worlds than these. Until we meet again. AES.

Brought a bottle home from The Doge @ June 2018.
Aged very well. Big, balanced…Elijah Craig still prominent. Smooth/very drinkable as hoped with a barreled/cellared Imperial Porter body… not some huge chewy stout.
Even more outstanding as beer warmed a bit.

Appearance - The beer poured an inky black color with a dark mocha colored head.
Smell - There were big sweet burbon notes in the nose.
Taste - At the front, there was smooth sweet bourbon. Leathery notes were accompanied by dark chocolate. Bourbon and oak really come through in back. It gets better as it warms.
Mouthfeel - The beer was smooth and very full bodied.
Overall - This beer was pretty awesome, but bordered on elite as it warmed.

Jet black with a tiny and quickly disappearing tan head. Smells strongly of bourbon, roasted malt, baker's chocolate, and caramel, but mostly booze. Taste really opens up, bourbon leads but met with caramel, vanilla, leather, baker's chocolate, coffee, wood, marshmallow, raisin, and molasses, but all through the lens of robustness. Unrelenting in feel, can't believe it is a porter except the mouthfeel of the finish is definitely porter like with the dry thinning. Fantastic beast of a beer

2018 release. Very dark, nearly black, with minimal head from a gentle pour. Thick. Copious booze on the nose and the palate, with bourbon notes that are true to the Elijah Craig it was aged in: creamy vanilla, nougat, dates, dark chocolate, and touches of pie spices. Round, big flavors and complex oscillations between malted grains, delicate fruit, and baked goods, all infused with a very health dash of bourbon.
