Reviewed from notes. Batch 29 consumed on 7 August 2013. Thanks to Duffman929 for the bottle!
A: Pours an opaque deep brown with 1/2 finger of mocha-colored head. Head quickly dissipates to nothing. Some light brown color is visible through the edges.
S: Aroma of milk, chocolate, chiles, cocoa, molasses, and dark roasted malts dominate the smell. Very little alcohol is detectable.
T/M: Sipping is smooth up front with chocolate, dark fruits, and a slight roasty bitterness. Chile swells through the sip and after the finish to become quite strong. Mouthfeel is medium -- a little thinner than I'd like, with low carbonation.
O: This is pretty good. The chiles are a little overdone as they are just about every time, and this is far from the most egregious offender in that way. The mouthfeel is a little thin and I wish there was a bit more carbonation. Judging from what I can find quickly online, this likely had a bit over a year on it when I consumed it, but it was doing pretty well.

Bottle pour at the pre-FWIBF bottle share held at the Adelaide Inn in Paso Robles, CA.
Batch # 365/66/67.
Pours a murky super dark brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and vanilla aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa and vanilla flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness and chile heat on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty, but nothing special among other beers of the same type.
