Got in a trade with TheFugitive. 22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/27/2013. Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger dense tan head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of milk chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, raisin, toast, dark bread, and roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and the vanilla/cocoa/coffee notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, toast, dark bread, and roasted earthiness. Slight roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, dark bread, toast, vanilla, cream, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of roasted/dark malts with the cocoa/coffee/vanilla flavors; with big flavor robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very creamy and moderately slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice milk stout. All around good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and vanilla/cocoa/coffee flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

The wife brought this one back from Chi-town for me last month. Love Pipeworks!

Served in a Port City tulip.

A: The head was absolutely ridiculous... about 3-4 fingers or so. Dark, dark brown in color.

S: Simple awesome: The coffee vanilla combo hit me up front along with sort of a chocolate brownie-like flair.

T: This is about as dessert-like as it can get without being an IS. A good bit of candy-coated booze wrapped up in brownie batter. The coffee was minimal, but added to the feel.

M: A mild bitter slap on the end (probably the coffee contribution). Sweet and delectable, without being too cloying.

O: This brew totally rocked my world. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was.

Almost black, but not a void of no light. Thin tan head.

Smooth and bitter, ending in sweet. I could not find the cacao nibs amongst the coffee and vanilla.

Very pleasant, the flavors start with stout, melding to chocolate, vanilla, and then coffee bitters. A whisper of alcohol burn a few seconds after the flavor leaves.

The sharp small carbonation is fantastic, like mineral water. It helps balance out the following smoothness that comes with milk stouts.

This is fun and smooth when you want a sweet treat.
