22 oz bottle.

Pours hazy gold with a two-plus inch head of stark white. A solid skim coat remains with a generous amount of tattered lacing for the duration of the glass.

Aromatics lead of with spice-studded fruits and bubblegum. Apples, bananas, cloves, peppercorns, and doughy yeast.

Light bodied with a crisp, fluffy mouthfeel.

Fresh, crackery malt dusted with peppercorns, cut grass, and a lemony twang on the palate. A mild warmth from the peppercorns builds and lingers.

Finishes with warming cracked peppers, zesty yeast, and mild funk.

Tasty brew. The peppercorns are not overdone and barley a trace of warmth.

Hazy straw with a spongy white and persistent head.

Banana, funky, slightly spicy aromas. Band aid phenol.

Yeasty, spicy, faint dragonfruit. The peppercorn is heavy in the finish.

Mouthfeel is very dry and prickly. On the light side even for a saison.

I liked it but would have enjoyed it more if the peppercorn was dialed back and it wasn't so dry.

Appearance- Pours a hazy golden color with a thick layer of foam that eventually settles into a thin layer of white carbonation. Head of the bear is persistent and a notable sticky lacing coats the glass.

S- A lot of citrus up front with lemons and faint hints of phenols including a light clove. There is a certain floral quality to the smell that melds with the citrus towards the middle of the beer that I am going to attribute the pink peppercorns. Towards the end there seems to be a slight amount of peppery spice, but part of my wonders if I am imagining it since I know they used peppercorns in the beer.

T- Starts off once again with the lemony citrus and a surprising malt sweetness in the beginning. However, the floral character is more noticeable in the beer and takes the lead towards the middle of the beer. The floral taste is refreshing, not quite tea like, and not overdone. Towards the end of the beer, the spicey peppercorn character kicks in. I beleive the added peppercorn leaves a little strange taste in the finish, but nothing off putting.

M- Beer is a little sweeter to what I am used to in a saison, but drys out in the finish. Nice full carbonation as well.

O- Really liked my first saison from Pipeworks and will now certainly try the other one I saw at the store. I would have liked to see it be a little dryer and persona

Pours hazy golden with a big 2 finger head and lot of carbonation

Nose has a vinegar lemon zest note that fades into a fair amount of spice and a slight straw malt backbone

Taste has some interesting components to it. There is a bit of woody character that is mixed with some fruity notes. The peppercorn is the dominate flavor that enparts the contrasting notes. The yeast gives an interesting sour flavor that is accentuated with a small amount of tannin that is not at all off-putting.

Slightly dry, crisp light bodied and still refreshing

Pours a hazey golden color with a big white head and lots of lacing

Smells grassey, silght citus and some pepper

Grassy, yeast and some bitter citrus , nice spice from the pepercorns but not overpowering

Nice balenced feel, slighyly dry finishes great

I love saisons and this is one of the better ones iv had in a long time, the peppercorns offer a nice changethat still stays true to the style different yet still very drinkable

Appearance: Pours with a massive head. About three to four fingers. Thick layers of lacing is left at each level of the glass. Slight yellow color to this brew. Active carbonation while drinking.

Smell: An extremely dry straw aroma dominates this brew. The peppercorns hit hard here. There is a cinnamon spice undertone as well. Getting some lemon and pepper as well. Interesting, just those peppercorns come on so hard it is tough to get past them.

Taste: Like the aroma, a straw/grassy front hit right away. There is some good hop presence here as well. The peppercorns do their thing again in the body of this brew, dry and spicy. The lemon doesn't come through like it did in the aroma, but provides some dryness on the back end. The finish is a yeast presence which kind of feels like a belgian ale. Like Pipeworks previous Poivre, this one is a unique twist on a farmhouse ale.

Mouthfeel: Some citrus and peppercorny dryness.

Overall: Like I said above, an interesting twist on a farmhouse ale. The peppercorns come on much hard then I thought they would and distract from the brew overall. Cool those off a bit and you could really have an elite brew here.
