Bottle pour at the DTLA bottle share held at Beer Belly in Los Angeles, CA.

Thanks to Earlycaquid for sharing this one.

Batch # 229-231.

Pours a hazy yellow-orange with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest and herbal hop flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty but has a slightly better hop presence in the aroma.

22oz bottle $9.99. Look sliek a typical DIPA, orange, good head. Aroma is weird and sweet like a dessert. Flavor was sickly sweet, reminded me of pound-cake or something. Myself and two others found this undrinkable and poured it right down the drain.

Batch 103

A: Slightly hazy gold with a nice pillowy white head - really good retention and lacing

S: Floral and grassy, some pine and resin. Pungent and ripe tropical fruits that don't dominate - candied grapefruit peel. Sticky, astringent pineapple concentrate (?). Great aroma, not as vibrant and aggressive as their other DIPA offerings.

T: Moderate bitterness and astringency. Sticky orange, lesser grapefruit - resinous. With warmth the orange increases into a sherbet-like sweetness. Very, very good

P: Medium/full bodied. Leaves a great lacing of hop astringency and bitterness on the sides of the mouth.

O: Another fantastic hop offering from pipeworks, imo better than the first batch. Very interesting hop profile

Pours a pale amber and white crisp head that lasts the session.

The aromas are what I would believe the bottom of a pine forest would smell like. Resinous pine, hop leaf, mossy and earthy. Imagine holding fresh hops in your both your hands and dig your nose in and breath in deep deliberately and slowly---yes...enjoy!

First sip is brashly dry bitter hop. My first thought of was the Sorachi Ace hop, which I read on the bottle later as one of the hops brewed. Actual delite. Very straight forward bitter brew. No oniony residue or citric burst.

Medium carbonation, dry finish, bitter and a real pleasure.

If you don't really like a citric hop this is one to try. I love Pipeworks artwork labeling and love their brew selection. Thanks to them for letting us know the hop billing on side label. Good bitter brew for me to have when I lite up my favorite habano this early spring. This Easter, Something Hoppy Came This Way for dad. Drink fresh and enjoy often!

Big head on cloudy deep yellow body. Hoppy aroma. Nothing like it smells, rather than solely citrus, getting pineapple and tropical fruit. Above average mouthfeel, not the palate eraser some DIPAs are. Very good drinkability. Thanks John for this little gem.

Something very hoppy came this way with this beer. It poured a hazy golden with thin head that left a spotty lace. The scent carried fresh hops which leaned more towards bitter citrus. The taste has very hoppy and bitter...but not overly bitter. There was enough malt to help balance the beer. Grapefruit was the primary driver for this fine ale. The mouthfeel was medium in body with subtle carbonation. Overall this was a good beer....but 10% abv and the price keeps it from being a go to. Certainly worth a try, but I would go out of my way to search for this.
