Tasted with the group, side-by-side with the other three Pipeworks Berliners. 2/4. The pour is a lighter, ruby-red color with some amber around the edges, and maybe even the slightest blue tint all around. A weird, grey-ish, red-hued head fizzles away quickly. The aroma is that of a sweet blueberry patch, but it's quite a bit more relaxed and subdued than I would have liked. It's very mellow and surrounded by other seemingly random "berry" aromas - but the actual blueberry aromas aren't quite smacking me in the nostrils just yet.
The taste starts off with mildly tart blueberries, not really tart enough to even refer to it as "sour". The slight tartness quickly mellows out and turns into a natural sweetness. Some other fruit-like flavors I'm picking up are green apple skins, mild strawberry, and maybe even a little blackberry? Blueberry, however, is the forefront of all the fruit in the taste, and thankfully a bit more powerful that it was in the aroma. However, there seems to be something left to desire. Overall, things are still pretty mild - and while you must realize it's a Berliner-Weiss, you can (and should) still expect a little bit more than this. Thin bodied with medium-high carbonation.
In the end, this one was still pretty tasty and obviously very drinkable, but it's as though I was waiting for something that never came. Maybe I was expecting too much, thanks to my love of blueberries - but they just didn't come through like I wanted them to. Still a decent Berliner, but IMO, last place of the Pipeworks quad.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Batch #51.
Appearance - Pinkish purple with a small white head. Like a carbonated Arbor Mist. Classy.
Smell - Wheaty grain and a hint of acidity. No blueberry, really. Maybe a hint of berry, but not what I'd call blueberry. Hint of funky cheese. I know this is the new batch, but it's weird anyway.
Taste - Lightly tart. Wheat grain. Berry tartness. Dry finish.
Mouthfeel - Very light. Medium carbonation.
Overall - Doesn't taste like much, but it doesn't have any of the weird flavors that the nose has.
