Bottle from jdhende, 650ml into a tulip. Batch 46.

Hazy orange, with a huge white head. Big chunks of lace, wall of retention along the side of the glass. Nose of lemons, line, pepper and saison yeast. Drying and zesty. Taste has lemongrass, herbal hopping, more citrus zest and some chalky yeast character. Medium body, herbal bitterness and grainy character well into the finish.

Pours hazy burnt golden in color with a big finger and a half white head that retains nicely.

Smell has traditional saison aromas forward with notes of black pepper and spice along with a big amount of hops with herbal notes along with pine and a lemon zest.

Taste follows nose with some Belgian spice flavors forward before some crisp lemony citrus hops come in with an herbal piney mild bitterness. Sweetness is moderate and lasts into the the exhale.

Mouthfeel is sticky from the malt and hop oils. Big carbonation helps cut the body.

In the glass, a slow pour sprouted a giant fluffy white head with a strong desire to stick around. From this fluffy greatness lunged very spicy aromas gleaming of earth and pine, weaved with clove, peppercorn, horse blanket, pear, and lemon. Fighting its way through the head, the beer rejoiced upon reaching my mouth by way of citrus peel and spicy herbal yeast. Mid-palate sees the light of fruity sweetness reminiscent of apple and pear. It fades away in a long dry fashion, letting the spicy yeast esters claim victory.

This sucker was a gusher... foamy to the 10th power.

Served in an Olde Hickory glass.

A: Looked good in sort of an orangy kinda way. Cloudy and with a MASSIVE head. Perhaps I should have a) let it breathe a couple minutes and b) not poured it down the middle.

S: Spicy but not in wacky Wit territory. Piny for sure, with a funky disposition. Citrusy, but not too sugary.

T: Ahh... so refreshing. So may not appreciate that, but I certainly do. Fresh filtered water flair, not too much Belgian funk, and a good bit of citrus.

M: Infinitely well carbonated and frothy, lots of lacing, and not too sugary at all. Pretty nice on the mouth front.

O: I'm a saison freak and this was right up my alley. I enjoyed it more than most. Go ahead and sue me.
