22oz, Batch 112
8oz Tired Hands fluted glass (consumed with friends at brewpub in Ardmore, PA)

A: Dark black. Creamy light tan head. Some alcohol feet. Not a lot of lacing. Good carb.

S: Definitely getting that coffee. More coffee grounds. Some soft vanilla. Really subdued. Chocolate, like bakers dark chocolate.

T: Sharp coffee up front. Vanilla sweetness for sure. Sweet roasted malts. Long finish.

M: Full bodied. Creamy.

Coffee and vanilla? Did I get the wrong beer?

This stout's primary flavor is of chilies.

Aside from the switcheroo, this is a very tasty Imperial stout. I was hoping for something a little sweeter and more mellow but the surprise was not a let down.

Overall- It's very good- certainly above average. And I might buy another bottle or two, depending on what else is available, but it's not one I'd pick up on every trip to the store.

This presented a glowing black appearance with a good stiff thick head that laced in a sheet.

The nose is a strong coffee and roast with a little chocolate but the coffee is pleasurable and simple.

The flavor is spicy with near raw habenero chilies. The coffee flavor then comes through with a dry smoky roast, chocolate malt and a peppy spiciness.

The feel is dry but velvety, smooth and easy.

This was a bit surprising as there was no mention of chilies, and I got huge spiciness, and a mention of vanilla, and I got none. None the less I loved it.
