Thanks to SuperTraderDeluxe beerisheaven for this bottle, which might be my first Pipeworks, & I'd remember that if I didn't drink to much. Lots of that I blame on b-heaven. Someday I'm going to tally up the ounces he's forced me to drink. Meanwhile, I'm gonna open this 22 oz. bottle & split it with my wife.

Pour is black with a spitoon of carbonation. Nose is spot on: lovely chocolate, & there is a balance of coffee that's cut just enough with vanilla. Coffee in the name of a beer sometimes leads to alarming cold Folgers: doesn't look like that's where we're headed.

Coffee Break Abduction Gets the Balance Right (I'll take 80s songs for 400, Alex). Plenty of advertised coffee, pressed & steamed, but the vanilla was a very good choice, balancing it out nicely (I felt like I just wrote this). Roast in the middle if distinct from the coffee & I like it. Closes with a cutting bitterness. Drinks lower than 10.5%, I'd have believed this was a porter if you'd told me so.

Nice coffee stout that's solid. Nothing otherworldly or out of the ordinary, but well made & hits the spot. Good beer.

Taste: bold notes of dark chocolate, coffee beans, roasted malts, some sweet, some vanilla beans, smooth with a boozy kick. Same with the nose. Black, opaque, tan head and lace. Full body. A rich after dinner stout.

Jet black brew with a short brown head that recedes to the edges and hangs around. Only a few random spots of lacing are left behind. The aroma is sweet, roasted malt with a ton of coffee and a bit of vanilla. The flavor is like the nose with sweet, roasty malt, tons of coffee and a nice touch of vanilla. Very tasty.

Pours opaque dark brown in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is big coffee, roasted malt, and a nice vanilla and cracker backbone. Heavy bodied, roasty, and light carbonation. Doesn't overwhelm with coffee. Very balanced and one of the better Abduction beers I have had.
