22oz bottle (batch 16??? - handwritten and hard to decipher with any certainty) poured into an Idle Hands tulip.
A - A firm pour into the center of the glass yields an opaque black body with a short finger of dense foamy mocha head with a minute or two of retention before dropping to the surface and leaving a sparse lace trail behind and a thick collar.
S - Rich coffee roast up front with a good intensity. Creamy vanilla smoothes out the coffee a bit, revealing some dark chocolate and hints of booze. Coffee is showcased really nicely here.
T - Strong coffee flavor from the first sip...intense, bitter, roasty. A little bit astringent, very reminisient of black coffee. A slightly off-putting aspect of the flavor is a rather strong metallic taste that comes on the back end of each sip. A slight cherry-ish fruity flavor accompanies the metallic, confusing the issue a bit. No trace of alcohol or vanilla in the flavor.
M - Medium body, foamy mid-level carbonation. Nice roasty black coffee up front moving towards highly metallic in the middle thru to the finish. Metallic nature makes this a little bit tough to take.
O - Looks good, smells great. Plenty of coffee up front started the flavor off well. Really fell apart in the middle with the heavy metallic flavors. This had all of the makings of a great coffee beer, except for the metals.

pour is cola colored with caramel colored head. Nose is heavy coffee roast, light vanilla and a strange mix of olive and chocolate that doesn't go well together. Taste is a little better. More balanced, stronger chocolate fudge note with balanced coffee and hint of vanilla. Medium body and gentle carbonation with a linger coffee roast.
