Pours heavy and thick with not much head to speak of, but a thin golden brown.
Smells like a coffee house, some roasted malt, earthy, and sweet.
Tastes like a dark chocolate infused dark roast coffee blend, very sweet, but very tasty.
Mouthfeel is rich and smooth, definitely a dessert brew.
Overall, I'd be happy to pick this up again! Would love to try this on draft once they open their taproom here in Chicago.

Not simply relying on the roasted character of common stout to carry its flavor, a heaping helping of coffee and vanilla is injected into the Abduction Imperial Stout for even greater depth, complexity and a special latte type of charm.
Its incredibly dark brown pour is somewhat intimidating in its hazy depth. But once its sultry aromas captivate the nose, the scent of dark chocolate, espresso and burnt sweetness make the first taste alluring and inviting. Coaxed with bold mocha latte flavor, its vanilla cream and singed caramels further reinforce its decadence.
As the creamy roast wraps around the tongue, a milkshake taste ensues- woven together with bittersweet chocolate, walnut, campfire and an earthen chicory root thread. Its creamy texture is like silk against the tongue and is only balanced by its own coffee-type bitterness.
Its warm and gently rolling finish is somewhat like Kahlua as its high roast flavor and dryness continues to be held in check by enduring vanilla and malt structure. Its an effortless taste, however its viscosity lends itself to after dinner sipping sessions rather than high rate of consumption.
