This presented a glowing black appearance with a good stiff thick head that laced in a sheet.

The nose is a strong coffee and roast with a little chocolate but the coffee is pleasurable and simple.

The flavor is spicy with near raw habenero chilies. The coffee flavor then comes through with a dry smoky roast, chocolate malt and a peppy spiciness.

The feel is dry but velvety, smooth and easy.

This was a bit surprising as there was no mention of chilies, and I got huge spiciness, and a mention of vanilla, and I got none. None the less I loved it.

Batch 336-338, bottled 2/28/14. Poured into a snifter.

A: Very dark with some browning around the edge. Nice foamy brown head. Looks great.

S: Sweet milky coffee; light baker's chocolate; a very faint cinnamon or brown sugar spice is in there, too.

T: Very sweet on the front end, like coffee with too much cream and sugar. Approaching the flavor of a vanilla latte. Milk duds and malted milkshakes. Milky sweetness was dominant, with coffee almost as an afterthought. Nice and boozy as it warmed up.

M: Substantial; coats the mouth nicely without being too viscous.

O: Too sweet for my palate. I like my coffee beers somewhere between Coffee Bender (which is like an unsweetened ice coffee (and awesome!)) and this one. Terrapin WnB is probably the finest non-BA coffee beer I've had. Mouthfeel on this one was a winner, and smell was quite pleasant. But I'd like a stronger coffee flavor.

A- jet black with a very little head that goes away pretty fast.

S- You get a lot of a roast and sweetness. When cold you get more sweetness then as it warms that nice coffee roast comes through. You get a lot of vanilla, chocolate, roast, and coffee.

T/M- You get a nice sweetness upfront you get milk chocolate, vanilla, and a nice coffee taste that last for a long time. It is very smooth you can not even taste the 10.5 % ABV.

O- A great stout that I am aging 2 of them. I can not wait to try the rest of the abduction series.
