A-Black in the glass but clear brown around the edges when pouring and not much carbonation or head.

S-Lots of coffee, good deal of vanilla roasted malt and some chocolate.

T-After letting it warm a little bit it is wonderful. Lots of coffee and vanilla wonderfully mixed. Some chocolate and roasted malt round it out.

M-Heavier but not much carbonation. Really the lack of carbonation is the only knock on it.

O-A really good beer. The coffee and vanilla go together greatly.

Waxed 22oz bottle from Beer Temple (Chicago, IL). 9.99. Batch 112; no bottling date but I bought this back in April. Served in a Terrapin snifter.

Pours near black with a finger and a half tan head that forms a thin halo around the glass and laces fairly well.

Aromas of sweet creamed coffee, vanilla and chocolate malts. Simple and nice.

Taste follows the nose well. Creamed coffee, milk chocolate malted milk balls, vanilla, caramel, faint burnt sugar, a little molasses and a dollop of booze. Delicious interplay between the roasty coffee and sweet vanilla.

Medium body with moderate carbonation. Bitter coffee and mild vanilla aftertaste.

Far from the most complex stout I've had but really tasty. I may not go hunting for it but I'd probably buy another bottle if I came upon it.

A - pours near black with half a finger of light chocolate head, medium outer ring with minimal lacing. Retention is a bit weak.

S - lots of roasty coffee, tons of sweet chocolate, licorice, lots of great coffee aromas. Almost a bit of boozyness

T - Exactly as it smells, sans the booze

M - smooth thick with minimal carb

Received as an extra in a trade. Poured into my Duvel tulip. Bottled only nine days ago...11/15/13!

A - Pours a nice rich dark brown nearly black hue with a thin one finger head that faded awfully quick to leave a thin blanket. Not much lacing either.

S - Aromas of a fair amount of bright dark coffee. nice and black and rich, though relatively one note. Not getting any chocolate, malts, or whatnot. Do get some alcohol though. I also don't get much, if any vanilla. Think it is overpowered by the coffee.

T - Taste is better than the nose, much more rounded out. Good light chocolate, almost faint sweet dark fruits, lots of coffee here which is front and center. The vanilla is there dancing around throughout which is nice. Glad to see it. Malts are a bit on the sweeter side.

M - Mouthfeel is really nice for the ABV. Lower carbonation, smooth.

O - Overall, this was a good beer. Appearance is relatively average for the style, and the smell is pretty one dimensional. Taste is pretty good with a solid mouthfeel. Maybe its TOO fresh? Was expecting more.
