Good void factor of complete darkness. Thing faded tan head.

A creamy vanilla floats in the back of a peppery coffee smell I have come to associate with the coffee stout genre.

A sweet vanilla meets you at the tip, and then a bold coffee flavor follows. These two flavors dangerously mask most beer and alcohol taste. Is that a good thing? Depends on the person, but I am enjoying it.

Slick and oily until the the astringent coffee bitters help clear the coating and leave a rich aftertaste.

This coffee stout is unique, in that I do not taste the aforementioned pepper like any other I have tried. As previously mentioned, it really is all coffee in flavor.

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Black without looking as viscous as the regular. Decent khaki head.

Smell - Nice coffee aroma. Chocolate malt. Sweet caramel.

Taste - The coffee flavor is quite good. Gets brighter and fruitier throughout. Chocolate malt. Sweet.

Mouthfeel - Sweet, medium carbonation. Kinda heavy, but the coffee seems to cut it.

Overall - Nice coffee, really improves the base.
