22 oz. bottle poured into a Dogfish Head IPA glass. Batch #114.
Appearance: Pours a hazy pale gold with a one-and-a-half finger white head. Good head retention andleaves a nice lacing down the glass.
Smell: Interesting mix of grapefruit, tropical fruit, and Belgian yeast esters. Unfortunately I feel the yeast and hops fight each other more than complement each other. It ends up a bit messy.
Taste: A lot more malt presence than I was expecting. Caramel malt and toasted biscuit up front along with a nice tropical fruit hop presence. The Belgian yeast comes in on the finish along with some floral sweetness. I really like the hop profile, but again I think this just gets too busy and the yeast clashes with the rest of the flavor profile.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, medium to high carbonation level. It goes down very smooth and dries the palate on the finish nicely.
Overall: One of the only "misses" I've had from Pipeworks - I get the concept behind the beer, but it just doesn't work for me.

WARNING: I HAVE NEVER LIKED ANY BELGIAN IPA I HAVE EVER HAD.
Appearance: Orange with straw-orange highlights. Small, lacy, off-white head that quickly fades. Lacy with hints of legs. Out of a tulip glass.
Aroma: Kumquats and tangerines, light maltiness underneath that strengthens as it warms. Some subtler notes of pine and white oak as a secondary. Hints of light phenolics might be present as very light plastic (in a accent of the hops way).
Taste: Citric notes with acidity up front that follows into light malty notes. Lemon and orange pith flavors follow. It seems that the minor phenolics present are accenting the harsh bitterness and hiding some of the lighter hop flavors. Nice depth of characters but it trails off into a negative phenolic (plastic, burning circuit board) flavors that leave the beer with a negative impression.
Mouthfeel: Medium light body with light astringency on the tongue. Finishes with an unpleasant phenolic astringency. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Wonderful aroma with just enough belgian intrigue (light phenolics) to add complexity but the phenolics combine with hop astringency to overwhelm the delicacies of this beer. As it warms some of the phenolics blow off but it leaves the beer some what flat in flavor.
