Appearance is an orange color with a 1.5 finger white head.
Aroma is pine and sweetness. Lots of apricot and melon. Some malt also.
Flavor is pine, citrus, big apricot jelly flavors and mouth malt backbone to balance it out.
Perfectly bitter and quite a complex beer.
Mouthfeel is not too dry. Bitterness lingers on the back end.
Another great offering by pipeworks.

bomber into tulip.

A: very cloudy. pours a pinkish hue. head is bubbly and slightly off-white. good retention. tons of sticky lacing.

S: minor oxidation. smells fruity. significant malt presence. not getting blown away by the cascade hops here.

T: pretty fruity. pear, melon, grapes. decent amount of caramel. especially in the finish. similar to the nose, really not blown away by the hops which is a bit of a shame. regardless, not a bad flavor.

M: good carb. medium/full body.

D: good, not great. really a bit disappointed seeing the hype around the ninja brews. wish I was more taken. I gotta give this a pass mostly based on price point and hype.

Appearance-
Burnished orange, slight haze, and a nice foamy cream head.

Smell-
Pleasant grapefruit, with a smooth coconut/vanilla sweetness. Definitely a cascade bite lacking in the current trend of IPAs.

Taste-
It starts out much creamier than I expected, but that makes the pleasant bitterness akin to Cascade hops all the better.

Mouthfeel-
Thick, but the hop makes it feel astringent. Could use a little more bubble.

Overall-
Cascade is one of the first hops I was able to identify, and it has a nostalgia quality. This, like most of Pipework's beers, is a well done representation.

Pours slightly hazy and amber in color with a one finger white head that has good retention.

Smell has some great bright citrus aromas, slight hints of grapefruit and sweet juicy orange hop aromas. Sweet caramel malt and butterscotch like yeast give this a great candy like midsection that compliments the juicy hop aromas nicely.

Taste is great, more juicy orange like hop flavors forward in the taste along with a semi sweet rich caramel malty body. Finish has more citrus hop flavors along with a mild amount of bitterness.

Mouthfeel is awesome. Smooth medium body along with a moderate amount of carbonation keep this very refreshing. There is a good amount of hoppy oils that let the juicy flavors last throughout the entirety of the brew.

22 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. Handwritten Batch #240 written on the back label. Another variety of hop for another beer in the ninja series, although they have no changed the label and omitted the word 'ninja' from the label. I wish they'd kept the old label, but such is life and beer. Expectations are high based on Pipeworks' reputation for great beers.

Poured into an over-sized wine glass.

A - Pours a nice bright burnt sienna orange colored body with two fingers of fluffy creamy off-white head. Looks pretty damn nice; on par with the rest in the series. Some nice scattered lacing.

S - Smell is on par with the others also; it has that classic ninja smell to it. Tropical floral hops, peaches, grapefruit, apricots, some cream, some soapiness, hint of spicy rye heat, and just a hint of caramel malt to balance things out.

T - Taste is more dirty and earthy than it is floral, but still nicely tropical and fruity. Bitter grapefruit hops, pine resin, peaches, earth, caramel malt, some peppery rye, & mild alcohol heat on the end.

M - Feel is smooth and creamy, and ends bitter and resinous on the palate.

Overall, a worthy addition to the ninja family, albeit probably not my favorite. More dirty and earthy than some of the others, but it still has that classic ninja feel to it. 9.50% abv is well masked, but there is still a hint of heat. In all, it's another worthy offering from Pipeworks.

Pipeworks Cascade Ninja ---4/5.
