22 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. Batch #194. My first beer in the Pipeworks Ninja vs. Unicorn Epic Battle Series, and my first beer made with strictly simcoe hops that I'm aware of. Expectations are high based on Pipeworks's good reputation for great beers, and based on this beer's current high ratings.
Poured into a clear balloon snifter glass.
A - Pours a beautiful dark burnt sienna orange colored body with little sediment. Two fingers of creamy fluffy off-white / light tan colored head. Big fat sheets of lacing on the glass. Looks beautiful.
S - Smells truly mouthwatering. Luscious sappy pine hops, grapefruit, peach, some earthiness, some soapiness, a bit skunky, cat piss like acidity, and tons of beautiful floral aromas.
T - Definitely lives up to the hype. Believe it. Tons of bitter pine hops, grapefruit, peach, blood orange, some soapiness, florals. Truly an outstanding tasting beer.
M - Feel is smooth and creamy with some resinous hop bitterness and just a hint of alcohol warmth on the finish.
Overall, a truly outstanding beer from Pipeworks, probably one of the best I've had from them so far. These guys never cease to amaze me. About as smooth, creamy, and easy drinking as you could possibly expect from a beer with a 9.50% abv. Alcohol is expertly well masked. Apparently fresh simcoe hops are a beautiful thing.

(Served in a tulip glass)
A- This beer pours a deep dried orange peel with a strong carbonation supporting a bubble beige creamy head.
S- The overripe pineapple hops leads to a green herbal hops in the finish.
T- The nice unripe herbal fruity hops lead to some citrus pith that finishes with a slightly sweet caramel malt hint. There is a gentle pungent green hop flavor that lingers.
M- This beer has a medium mouthfeel with a nice crisp finish and no real alcohol heat.
O- This beer really shows off the Simcoe character. The nice unripe fruit flavors with some herbal woody depth and a mellow bitterness makes this pretty easy to drink for such a big beer.

A: Hazy dark orange - gold tinged. Nice off yellow foamy head - not very thick lacing and retention, looks like a 9.5 beer.
S: Reminds me of heady... which is a great thing of course. Not the most pungently aromatic of the series, but very very nice. Sweet pink grapefruit and sugared grapefruit rind, incredibly fresh pine. Along with the sweet grapefruit comes notes of various tropical fruits - pretty sweet. Though piney, not very resinous.
T: Very good - and again, brings heady to mind! Incredible balance, as have all of their single hop ninja series beers have been. Incredibly fresh pine and ripe pink grapefruit washes over the palate with traces of various light-colored tropical fruits. Pretty dry but the flavor lingers well. Its getting better and better as it warms - more distinct pine and grapefruit.
P: Medium/full mouth feel. Does not coat the mouth with sticky, chewy hops very much.
O: What can I say, I am a sucker for all of these beers. The best part is that I know that future batches are going to be even better. A great DIPA as it is - awesome to see these hop varieties under the spotlight.
Batch 192 day old when consumed - improved, fantastic, amazing

A: Clear dark amber. Thick ivory head with moderate retention.
S. This smells fantastic. Strong pine and grapefruit smells with hints of other citrus.
T: The taste is piney all the way. Just enough deeper citrus notes to remind that you that you are in fact tasting simcoe, but otherwise its a clean sharp piney hop flavor on a sweet malt background.
M: Thick but sharp. The bottle conditioning really helps in this regard. Good carbonation and bitterness.
O: Another amazing single hop IIPA from Pipeworks. This is one of the best in the class. Can't miss.

Clear gold-orange color with a copious amount of white head that leaves behind spotty lacing.
The smell has orange peel, pine, and lots of cat piss.
The taste is unmistakably Simcoe. Grapefruit, pine, Brie cheese. The light bready malt is submissive to the bitter hops.
Mouthfeel is dry and clean. Fresh tasting.
It's an awesome DIPA and, so far, only takes a backseat to citra ninja in their lineup, in my opinion.

Pours a gorgeous dark rust red, great two finger head, and well carbonated.
The Simcoe provides nice citrusy, spice notes to this wonderful brew.
Spicy citrus is balanced perfectly with a fresh bread backbone and notes of pineapple in the finish.
Sticky and dank, just the way I like my IPAs!
Overall this is a perfect concoction to pour down the throat on a hot summer day.
