650ml bottle poured into a Pipeworks snifter.
The beer pours a nice honey copper color, hues of orange and gold, slight chill haze with a finger or so of foamy white head that has good retention but leaves little lace. The aroma is heavy on the lime, with grapefruit, wildflower and sweet malt and alcohol. The aroma is less boozy than the standard Pipeworks DIPA, which is a relief, but it seems to be lacking depth and complexity. Lime jumps out on the tongue, grapefruit is there behind it, wildflower, lemongrass that leads to sweet malt and alcohol. Lime and citrus really dominates here and some balancing pine would've been a nice touch. The body is lightly carbonated and coats the mouth well. It's fairly juicy and has a wet, sweet finish.
Verdict: An interesting take on the Ninja DIPA from Pipeworks, but the lime is really heavy and is quite dominant. A little more play with some pine and other resinous, darker flavors might have helped. I appreciate the lime taking center stage as it is the highlighted ingredient, but there really isn't much else here.

(Served in a tulip)
A- This beer pours a slightly hazy woody orange body with a gentle carbonation and a lumpy beige head
S- the lime juice aroma comes through during the pour. There is some woody green hops in the finish but they are a bit softer.
T- There is a cream flavor that leads to a citrus pith and acidic lime flavor that turns tangy with some Vienna malt flavors underneath.
M- This beer has a medium-light mouthfeel with a gentle fizz and no alcohol heat.
O- This beer has a full lime flavor but the hops are a bit softer and can't hang with the citrus. Interesting but a bit odd.
