We brewed this light, refreshing, saison with gallons of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and zest. It's a perfect brew to pair with a frozen pizza you've recently harvested from your freezer, or that vibrant, green, salad you foraged from Mariano's (or Jewel, what have you). What we're trying to say, is that it's a perfect accompaniment to the final moments of sweet, sweet, Chicago summer.

Had this on 2015-06-16 in Columbia, PA from a 22oz bomber bottled on 2014-09-09.
A - Mostly-clear gold with a huge 3-finger head and pillowy white head. Moderate lace. Gorgeous on the pour.
S - Lots of Saison yeast esters! Grass, celery, grape, carrots and earthy spice.
T - Sourdough bread, lemon, white pepper, earthy spice, grass, grape. Finishes dry with a flourish of herbal bitterness for balance. The alcohol is almost invisible.
M - Light body and high carbonation. Crisp and refreshing.
O - One of the better Saisons for my tastes. Lots of pleasant aromas and flavors. I like them on the lighter, more refreshing side and this does it.

750 ml bottle, with Batch #501-502 printed on the label. A new saison to me from Pipeworks, this one brewed with citrus zest and juice, according to the label. My bottle also lists an 8.00% abv.
Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.
A - It pours a murky golden body with four fingers of big bubbly white head, and lots of active carbonation streaming topside from the etching at the bottom of the glass. No real lacing to brag about, but it otherwise looks very nice. 4
S - The aroma is simple, yet pleasant enough - some musty yeast presence, some prickly carbonation, some earthy / herbal hoppiness, and a good deal of citrus fruits, although it's kind of unclear which ones.
T - The taste is juicy, fruity, yeasty, and bready. Notes of grapefruit, orange, & pineapple.
M - The feel is smooth & juicy with crisp, moderate carbonation. Very easy drinking despite the moderately high abv.
