Pours a hazy deep golden peach color with a solid half inch cream head that lingers, leaving a ring of foam around the rim.

Aroma is heavily grapefruit-forward, with orange, mango, and pineapple adding complexity to this fruit salad of a beer. Resin and pine carry into a hint of sweet, bready malt. Floral hops emerge as it warms. After another round, acetone became evident in the aroma, as well.

Grapefruit, apricot, and orange hop flavors are HUGE in the flavor, with mango and pine emerging, supported lightly by bready malt into the decidedly bitter, spruce and onion finish. Initially, a hint of acetone came across. There's enough hop presence to remove nail polish, for sure!

Body is a bit light, with moderately high carbonation and significant alcohol warmth.

Overall, a hop explosion in both flavor and aroma. Best ipa they've created so far. Think they've almost got the recipe nailed down! A little more body...

Update: 7/31/13 Hop bill must've changed dramatically. Aroma lacks citra character, and resiny bittering hops dominate flavoring hops. Fairly harsh. It's a shame, because this was a fave. I didn't alter my original rank to suit.

Serving- On Tap at their Brewery/TapRoom

Appearance- Enjoyed this outside so it had more ambient light than I normally get to see with my brews. That being said, it appeared golden. That was about it. Not dark by any stretch but not light. Right in the sweet-spot range for a good, basic IPA. Nice half-finger head which dissipated within a few minutes.

Nose- Slightly more grassy than I get with a lot of IPA's. That was the only note that stood out in my mind as being different than a lot of others in this style. Also, plentiful light Citrus. Perhaps some zesty citrus like lemon. Nice smell. Really solid. You know before you take a drink it's gonna be good.

Taste- Oh yeah, this one is good! Archetypical IPA- Perfect bitterness up front with a bit of malty finish you can tell it's got a good amount of malt backbone to balance it out. There is also that grassiness once more, this time in the taste in addition to the smell. As it warms I seem to get more pine as well. Great.

Overall- I really like this beer. I only was able to enjoy one the day I dropped by but I would no doubt get this any time I had the option to. If it were available in bottles/cans locally I'd love to keep a 6 pack in my fridge all the time. Really everything good about this style highlighted in a copper pint glass.
