Dark almost brown in the center, the color was lighter orange around the edges. The head was stiff and bubbly but was gone in seconds.

The scent was mostly malt and pine, subtle but aromatic, I enjoyed the aromas just wished they were stronger.

The taste followed the nose with a rich malt flavor and floral piney hops. The description given by Country Boy is that a single hop is used and produces citrus flavor. If I strain I can get a tinge of lemon so I wonder if my palate is simply not as suited for this IPA.

The feel is silky smooth with limited carbonated feel to make this a great beer for a hot July day.

On tap at The Tap

Pours clear amber with a nice foamy head with excellent retention and a good sheath of lacing down the glass.

Lots of citrus/pine hops on the nose along with a hefty caramel backbone.

Starts out with some citrus hop flavor and a touch of resin, but didn't really explode at the front of the tongue the way I'd like. Definitely a hefty caramel backbone on this one and the sweetness is perhaps a tad bit high for an IPA. Finishes more balanced with caramel and resin.

Medium bodied with medium carbonation. A bit chewy, but no lingering bitterness on the back of the tongue.

A standard IPA for those who prefer more balance. It wasn't bad, but I feel the balance leans heavier toward malt and I found the initial flavor burst and lingering hop bitterness I expect from IPA's absent on this one. Still one I'd reach for again, but not if there are better style choices.

I had the good fortune to be given a half of this for the kegerator. Pour was golden amber, with an immediate resinous hoppy nose. Hopping was a little brusk, assertive but not overpowering. Initial hops are the slightest touch raw, then pulling back to reveal some faint mango with pine in the forefront. Malt contributes a reserved bit of sweetness late, before the finish wraps up with firm bitterness. I would have guessed a lower ABV, and the beer drinks well.

Enjoyed on-tap @ Country Boy Brewing in Lexington, KY for $4. Tapped from a Creative Wooden Carved Tap Handle (they all are like this here) into a 16oz Pint Glass.

Aroma- Big huge complexed hop aroma! Tons of resin and citrus fruits all mixed together. Strong with a hint of the ABV.

Appearance- Received with a 1.5 finger of creamy head that has great retention. Has a dark copper body with a semi-hazy background. Leaves good lacing behind.

Flavor- Huge hop flavor with sweetness to back it up. Complexed once again with and bitterness level was out of this world high.

Mouthfeel- Medium-Full Bodied, Medium Carbonation, Chewy, but then finished a bit dull. Not much hop lingered afterwards.

Overall Impression- Another great IPA from a local brewery! I wish these IPA's could have different characters every time but a good IPA is a good IPA. Won't be picky here!
