A very mellow brown ale. Easy drinking and the vanilla bean at the end compliments the beer very nicely. If you enjoy lighter dark beers then this is a good choice. I would love an imperial version of this aged in barrels a little longer

Good brown ale. Looks great. The bourbon profile is very subtle on the finish. Smell is vanilla, coffee, a little cocoa. If your not a big fan of bourbon/whiskey beers, then you shouldn't have a problem with this ale.

Purchased a 6 pack in Huntington W. VA
Listed on this site as having a 5.3 ABV.
LOOK: Pours a dark chestnut brown with a tan foamy head that way too quickly disappears to nothing more than a thin, thin 360 degree glass ring.
AROMA: Some sweet roasted malts, with toasted vanilla beans along with some coffee and molasses scents
TASTE: Roasted malts are most prominent. Also get coffee and molasses, whiole the vanilla is more in the after taste, but quite good.
Low carbonation and also very thin on the tongue.

Absolute best beer I have ever tried! I have turned so many friends and strangers on to this beer. I can be sitting at our local Bdubs (Buffalo Wild Wings) and here comes another beer someone has bought me, saying thanks for telling me about Shotgun Wedding!

Found it at a WV Kroger and even though it was 6 months in the can the name was too interesting too pass up.
Rich brown with a very creamy, cappuccino colored head that slowly broke down to a thin layer.
Faint malt aromas with no vanilla.
Tastes rich, full of malts and sugar with the vanilla showing up at the very end.
Full mouth but with a juiciness that works.
Very, very good beer.

12oz can, tulip, canned 2/16/22.
It’s a heady pour, but thin and sort of auburn, atop a light cola colored beer.
Turbinado sugar, burnt sugar, some vanilla, and a small bit of nutty and woodiness.
Overall quite sweet, with some serious vanilla washing over everything. What it’s flowing over is lightly roasted malt, milk chocolate, light wood. I’m reminded of cream soda.
Light body, moderate carbonation, and a surprising drying finish given all the sweetness.
The bourbon was there a couple months ago. It’s a low ABV dessert beer and more of those would be fun.

Poured on tap at Apollo Pizza in Berea KY. The beer is a cola reddish brown with a fizzy off white head with moderate retention. Smell is slightly roasty, a bit of pumpernickel, molasses and burnt sugar. Taste is cola, roasted coffee, a bit of spice, caramel. Overall, this is a solid brown ale that hits the right notes.

Great appearance. Not much aroma at all in pint glass, no hop aroma, so I’d assume it’s an English Brown style, but that’s not what the description says. Disappointing lack of malt complexity and no hops to speak of in flavor or aroma. Crisp, light body, low hops bitterness and little alcohol presence. Overall, this is a quenching, quaffable beer, but just not very interesting. My pint was served VERY cold, so I wonder if a warmer pour would have brought out more character.
