December 29th, 2015 - Elevation is showing its sophisticated side with this, the 2012 Signal Botrange, a brunette beer with a perfume of mead. Honey and a rich, natural sweetness grip the smell, with some apple juice and pear juice for brightness. It is sophisticated and worth a moment of study, but then to the flavor with a similar flavor and a very gentle mildness. It doesn't rely on its grain profile, but instead a light and impeccable sweetness mixed with a similarly shy grain. And here too the pear and grape juice provide some acidic lift. It is a superb drink, and one of those where each sip is its own treasure in miniature. Now, to find another bottle to pair with a proper summery evening.

Picked up a 750 ml bottle from Kings Beer & Wine on 9-5-18 for $5.00 (Elevation left the Arizona market and the Distributor was getting rid of inventory). Bottled on 02.26.16.; Consumed on 12-8-18. 9.86% ABV.
Beer poured orange with a solid white head that is hanging around.
Nose is white grape forward with notes of pear and apple evident. Oakiness and alcohol linger in the background.
Taste is apple and pear forward with sweet malts coming forward leading to a slightly puckering finish that is sweet also.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and very smooth.
Overall an interesting beer that is unique from my perspective. A little too sweet for the style as i would have expected more pepper from the yeast to balance the sweetness.

4000th Review
750ml
Bottled On: 05.21.18
ABV: 9.8%
Poured into a Tree House glass a pretty nice cloudy dark golden orange color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus white head, which leaves a nice medium size island, and some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, hoppy, with some banana, clove, oaky, licorice, grapey. The taste is pretty nice, malty, yeasty, hoppy, with a really nice touch of banana, clove, oakyness/chardonnay, grapey, with some licorice, slightly tart. Full Body, ABV is hidden very nicely, with a nice dry/bitter finish, a nice complex brew. Overall, this one is pretty tasty, very drinkable. Glad to have gotten a chance to try it. A really tasty brew for my 4K review. Cheers!

L: Pours a hazy yellow orange color with a thick white tan head and very little lacing around the glass.
S: Notes of tart and sour white wine grapes, notes of bread and some peach, booze is quite a bit noticeable in this beer.
T: Notes of tart and sour white wine grapes, a bready malt underneath, some peach and the booze is once again quite noticeable.
F: Medium body, prickly carbonation
O: I really like what the white wine barrel adds to this saison.

My first brew from Elevation.
Ruby red with orange hues at the light. A smooth tan froth settles into a thick quilting. Booze and sour fruit flow forth prolific. Bread, booze, persimmon and peach in the aroma upon closer inspection. Tastes tart and spicy with a medium fruit core, fruit juice, wine, and sour dough. Slightly phenolic in the finish. Medium to heavy.
A few things right and a few things wrong, but not a bad start at all.
