Appearance: pours an orange gold, with a nice fluffy but dense white head. No lacing.

Smell: of sweet malt. The wheat is readily present with a nice fruity hop aroma as well, some spice present.

Taste: nice, delicious melding of flavors! The barley and wheat malts blend together in the fore, with the hops in the background for good balance. The chardonnay barrels add a delicious light fruitiness. There are also nice vanilla notes, as well as some oak and spice.

Mouth Feel: medium to light bodied, with just a tingle of carbonation on the tongue.

Overall: an excellent ale! I have a general weakness for ales brewed with wheat, and the aging of the beer in chardonnay barrels makes it simply delectable!

If you like a good, buttery, oaky, dry but a bit sweet chardonnay, then you'll love this beer. In fact, if it wasn't for the beer mouthfeel (carbonated and creamy), I would swear this was a wine. I've had many wine barrel aged beers, and this one is clearly well-crafted and quite unique.

Pours a dark honey/copper with a white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity some pear and grae with even a little honey too it. Flavor was also sweet and fruity, with some honey, some pear, grape, and the wine barrel. A fuller, soft & velvety mouthfeel with some activity. Overall, Elevation has really impressed with the 2 beers of their I have tried. I really enjoyed this take on a saison, a lot more to it than I expected from it going in. Always nice to be surprised like that.
