Pours a cloudy golden color with a 2 finger width foamy head. Head retention and lacing are okay. Nothing special. Has a Belgian farmhouse aroma with slight souring and dark grapes (chardonnay). Belgian yeast taste with a peppery spice, slight sourness and wine taste at the end. Has a decent taste but wish it was a little more sour tasting and a little less wine tasting. Very drinkable, though.

Corked and caged 750 ml bottle poured into a Duvel glass. Pours a very deep gold almost going to orange/amber. Moderate haziness. Foamy creamy colored head recedes quickly. Thin layer of creamy looking bubbles left behind with some moderate lacing on the glass. Lacing disappears quickly.

Smells of white grape, mild citrus, fresh cut grass and mild oakiness.

Taste is tart grape and lemon. Chardonnay flavors from the barrel aging is very evident. Oak, leather and sour green apple. Some coriander and more lemon, almost Witbier-ish. Mild dry earthiness.

Moderate body with a dryness on the tongue. Medium carbonation gives some crispness. Flavors linger.

An excellent wine barrel aged saison. Prominent wine notes without being overpowering. Moderate body and 7.5% make this fairly easy drinking. I like the mild tartness but would prefer a touch less dryness.

If you like a good, buttery, oaky, dry but a bit sweet chardonnay, then you'll love this beer. In fact, if it wasn't for the beer mouthfeel (carbonated and creamy), I would swear this was a wine. I've had many wine barrel aged beers, and this one is clearly well-crafted and quite unique.
