Notes & Commercial Description:
Beer added by: denver10 on 01-23-2013

This beer pours a deep dark brown with a snow-white head. Aroma notes of Vanilla, Cinnamon and sweet milk hit the nose bringing up images of the delicious Mexican drink this beer is styled after. The beer hits the palate with Vanilla, sweet chocolate malts, and a hint of cinnamon; all with a medium body and a balancing hop bitterness. Enjoy this beer next to a roaring fire with your amigos in a cozy cabin after a long day of skiing the deep powder of the Rocky Mountains.

This beer fits better into the Herb/Spiced Beer Category, as it is spiced with a ton of Cinnamon and Vanilla and also uses milk sugar. It recently took home a medal in this category and we believe it is a more accurate description then an Imperial porter.

Thanks and Cheers.

The Elevation Team.

From a 750 ml (Bottle # 592, brewed Winter 2012) into a snifter.

A-A mildly aggressive pour results in two-plus fingers of light brown head. The head is dense and pillowy, but it drops off at a reasonably quick pace. The brew is pitch black.

S-I like the smell of this stuff. It is a sweet mixture of spices (cinnamon mostly), milky-sweet chocolate, and a touch of boozy heat. There is lightly roasted component, too. The smell is not the most complex imperial stout/porter out there, but pleasing, nonetheless.

T-Taste tracks the smell pretty closely. A sweet, milk chocolate forward mixture of cinnamon spice, mildly roasted maltiness, and medium heat from the alcohol. The bottle says vanilla was added, and you notice it, but the vanilla flavor is not overwhelming.

M-This beer has a smooth feel with low carbonation levels. That being said, I could have used a little more weight.

O-This is an enjoyable porter. There is nothing mind-blowing here, but some good flavors nonetheless. If you like your dark beers on the sweet and mild side, instead of the smoke and char side, Senorita is a good option. Pair this with some dulce de leche or flan (or, just drink it alone, it is sweet enough) and desert is served.

Corked bottle...#00718, Winter 2012...poured in big Gulden Draak chalice.
Cork broke in half but came out with a wine opener with a nice pop.
Pours a super dark mahogany or black, with large dark head.
Aroma of roasted malts.
Modest carbonation and mouthfeel.
Flavors of malted milk balls, milk chocolate, vanilla, subtle cinnamon, black pepper, dark chocolate nibs. Quite flavorful, rich, and easy to drink. I'll give it 5 minutes...
Big head and lace remains...aroma of dried out brownie. Rich chocolate flavors, dark roasted malts and vanilla stand out. Very nice.

Once again, impossible cork from Elevation.

Three-finger toasted brown soapy head, very dark brown brew. no lacing.

Chilies, tons of vanilla, milky, chocolate, spicy and bready.

Much thinner than imagined. Carbonation is very high. Vanilla is not overly sweet, well done. Spice (peppery and cinnamon) is also well done and not over the top. Very wet and enjoyable. No heat or alcohol flavors. Lots of milk chocolate too.

Too thin and missing complexity for high ranks... It's nice and drinkable, however, relatively unremarkable. Nice blend of flavors, nothing is over powering. Barely Recommended @ ~$14.
