Big earthy aroma hits right off; bittersweet chocolate and coffee grounds scents, too, emanating from a near pitch black body and thick, foamy head. Taste and feel are rich, deep, and silky smooth;
An excellent porter that keeps the malts and hop components at the front-end of things. Well-balanced and immensely complex. If big roasted grain flavors with strong chocolate and vanilla tones combined with a good bitterness to keep the sweetness in check are what you're looking for in a dark ale, definitely give this beer a try.

16 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head that quickly goes to a thin collar.
The aroma is rich chocolate and some grains.
The flavor is sweet grainy chocolate and caramel malts with some roast bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is a bit thin bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, a solid roasted grainy chocolate porter. A bit thin.

A very solid porter from Elevation. If it had a little more of everything this beer could receive 5s
Nice pour with a tan head. Reminds me of a Yeti, but c'mon...not quite. Head is a tad soapy and lacing is splotchy
Nice blend of chocolate, smoke and coffee in the aroma. It smells great. Smells like a porter. Hint of booze
The smoke fades into a roastiness in the flavor. A touch grainy. Dark chocolate is baked, and maybe some singed caramel. Coffee is an undertone, thankfully. Drinking coffee grounds is not my idea of fun.
While this beer is just outside of sessionable, it is easy to drink. Had no problem with 16oz bottle.

A: Dark brown, little bit of light penetrance.
S: Malty, dark chocolates, coffee, smoky, not an overwhelming smell.
T: Light start but the smoky malty flavors really come trough in the finish. No one taste is overwhelming but they really compliment each other well. Also hints of dark chocolate.
M: Not the thickest but I wouldn't say it was light.
O: A great porter! Nothing outstanding or overwhelming but the overall balance of this beer is quite amazing in itself. Love it!

Small 1 1/2 finger head ontop of black brew.
Tons of BBQ smoke. oats and nuts rolled in chocolate.
Thin, light carbonation, nicely put together. Spicy, relaxed, not overly complex, nutty, greasy, lots of peanut butter. Woody, light, crisp.
Recommended for the price...$4/16oz. not Elevations best work, but a nice seasonal that I would buy again. Just a bit too smoked for my overwhelming like.

Pours black with a khaki head. Aroma was pretty robust with some nice chocolate, faint fruit, caramel, and some roasted and smokey malt. Flavor started off with some molasses, after which the roasted and smoky malt comes in nicely, and then a nice wave of some chocolate and caramel close things out along with just the slightest tease of some hops. A fuller, creamy velvety mouthfeel. Overall, a very nice porter and one I would be very happy to drink again (and have).
