Must have been infected, but even aside from the sour taste, Gross, done with BB.

An interesting beer. Kinda does remind me of either black forest cake or red velvet cake. Smooth and tartly sweet, quite enjoyable and satisfying in every way.
I agree with the sentiment that it should be cheeper and sold in sixers.

Solid stout with some sweet fruity notes, heavy mouthfeel, pleasant fading sweet stout aftertaste, great color, not much of a red velvet taste.
I would love this in a six pack or less expensive.

On tap at Siphon Coffee (Houston, TX), served in an hourglass Pilsner glass. Deep, dark brown with a nice layer of tan foam and long streaks of lace. Layers of smooth, chocolatey malt, hints of sweet and sour cherry and slight hint of alcohol evoke Black Forest cake as much as Red Velvet. Paired nicely with an espresso.

A - Pours a deep brown, almost black, with ruby hues when held to the light. Minimal lace on the glass.
S - Very light aroma consisting of roasted malt, chocolate, and cherry tartness.
T - Roasted malt, milk chocolate, and cherry flavoring in the finish. Much the same as the aroma.
M - Medium bodied, but a little thin for a stout. Average carbonation.
O - I expected this beer to be less than stellar after reading some of the previous reviews, but I actually found this quite enjoyable. Good flavor and the cherry added adds a bit of unique quality to it. Overall, I would buy it again!

Sampled on 5-9-15
Dated January 2015
Appearance: pours completely opaque and black, with a filmy tan head that clings to the sides. Seems thinner than expected.
Smell: very sweet, lots of earthiness from the cherries. It gets a little deeper if you look for it, but the cherries stay prominent.
Taste: all coffee/chocolate up front, then lots of acid and bitterness from the cherries. The aftertaste is bitter coffee, and lingers.
Mouthfeel: a little too thin. the flavors pass quickly, leaving only the bitterness.
Overal: a good candidate for the cellar. Some time may open up the flavors and add some needed smoothness.
