A bitter and grainy black beer. Brewery says it's brewed with British Crystal, Black Patent, and Chocolate malts. Hops are Summit and Cascade. Black in the glass with a modest head not lasting too long. Enough carbonation in the mouth.
Definitely one of the bitterest Porters I've ever tasted. Pervasive flavor of scorched cereal. A touch of burnt malt sourness from the Black Patent. It's like they started to make a black IPA and got carried away with the charcoal flavors. Thin body without any trace of malty sweetness. A tough one to drink for me, but if you like a seriously bitter black IPA, this might be one to try.
