16 ounce can, no dating on it but purchased it at the brewery last weekend after having a pint of it there on tap. Label says 8.9% ABV. Served in a Toxic Brewing snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half frothy tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, earthy hops and vanilla. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some dark bread and burnt/charred malt flavors noticeable. To me it's more of a roasty/bitter stout than it is a sweet one, which is fine with me. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's coating and a bit creamy with a good amount of carbonation. Thought this was a good overall stout, and this is just their normal stout since they have an even stronger one that they call their imperial. Always worth stopping at Toxic, and try this brew if you're able to!

I tried this beer at the brewery as part of a four sample fight whilst in Dayton for my Bestie's 50th Birthday celebration. It poured an opaque dark with tan head that did not leave much lace. The scent had sweet roast malt and chocolate notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt, roast, and chocolate presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.
