Poured into an oversized wine glass. Nice red color with tinges of brown. Pinkish foam with good retention.
Aroma of ripe cherry, and lots of it.
Lots of tart (but not sour) black cherry. Sweet, comes off as a little better, more tart version of Lindemans Kriek. Good tart/sweet balance. If I'm complaining, I could probably do with a little less sugar...BUT...with the understanding that this is not a lambic, this is tough to beat for warm-weather drinking.
Carbonation is kinda filling here...it doesn't feel overcarbonated on the palate, but in my gut it's awful burpy and filling, which I find annoying.
A good fruit beer - would be fun to play around with cheese and dessert pairings for sure.
