375 ml bottle, 2007 vintage.
The pour is dark brown, but when held into the light gives off brilliant ruby highlights. The pour produces a small tan colored head with decent enough retention and leaves behind nice rings of lacing.
The nose starts out very vinegary and acidic. In the background are sour green apples, cherries and a woody/earthy aroma.
The taste starts out just like the smell, vinegary and acidic. Again, in the background are the sour green apples and tart cherries, and the earthy wood character that I picked up before. Very vinous and acidic. Sweet than I thought it would be.
Medium in body, with a good carbonation. Finish is dry. Drinkability is pretty good, an interesting brew and an enjoyable one.
Well, of the two Liefmans offerings I've had to date, I enjoyed this one much more. I'd be interested to see how fresher and older vintages taste.

No bottling date that I can find.
A: Pours a dark reddish-brown. Very tall, very frothy light brown head. Head settles down eventually with only a little dot or two of lacing here and there. Good retention.
S: Dark fruits and berries. Light acetone. Floral.
T: Mild lactic sourness with floral flavors. Fruity in general and throughout, but nothing I can specifically place other than apples. A brief hit of sourness in the finish. Somewhat dry aftertaste, like dried apple slices.
M: Medium bodied, smooth and dry.
O: Very interesting brew. Floral and fruity in general. Crisp and refreshing - exceptionally so. Tart and sour here and there but nothing super overpowering. Nicely varied, really.
