From Festival de las Naciones. In Bavaria hefe glass. Playing The Silent Age. Wheaty profile that isnt exactly a wit (has low coriander/spicy notes) nor a hefe but something between. In any case, pleasant yet a bit flat

Fresh out of Minsk, in this wheaty option- Russian roots taste a lot like Belgium and Germany. With the sensible drinkability of lager, but with the doughy creaminess from wheat and the spicy and fruity balance from yeast- this characterful ale layers on a vale of extra brightness that beacons for sunny and warm days.
Bright and canary-yellow in its color, the unfettered hazy ale captures the gleam from scattered light like a prism, showcasing its delicate hue. As its creamy white head builds upon the ale, it does so with a creamy aridness that's just shy of classic Hefeweizens or Witbiers. Yet its reduction to a delicate sheet of foam amounts to intricate lacing patterns.
Its zesty aromas are full of fruit, spice and grain sweetness. Bready and doughy, the scent is of fresh baking bread. Its citrusy counterpart is lemony with peps of freshly zested apple and orange. A balance of clove, coriander and white pepper is partially added and partially natural from yeast.
Highly refreshing and crisp to its core, the wheat sweetness is lightly of cookie dough and light bread. But all that is lifted and supplanted with citrusy flavors are the acidity of white wine. Its apple, lemon and orange peel flavor is vibrant and truly seductive. As the spices weave in, the soft perfume of coriander, controlled clove and pep of white pepper offsets the sweetness with ease and provides a counter to its fruit. Finishing with a delicate minty hops and vanilla blend, the ale is very kind to the taste buds.
Medium-light on the palate, the ale trends drier and acidic which keeps it from being as creamy or as smooth early. Those dry tendencies allow its carbonation to dry the palate with a minerally crispness that's lightly metallic and grainy in texture- never off-putting but limits its tactile sensations. Finishing with that evaportive-type minty/cooling, the hops and alcohol work in tandem to refresh the palate with ease.
Perhaps the beer is doing too much- its dry and drinkable like Belgian Wheats, but is fruity and spicy like German versions. Mix in the high drinkability of lager and the ale looses focus; although it straddles the middle quite well.

"Beloe Zoloto" means White Gold in Russian. Constituents include glucose & glucose-fructose syrups, hop products, orange extract. Cloudy amber beer with decent off-white head. Typical spicy nose of coriander and citrus. Rather plain taste: coriander and rough malts transforms into slightly bitter final accord. Commonly uninteresting product.
