Just learning to brew with an experienced friend. I'm always amazed with how many supplies they have that covers such a wide variety of home brewers needs.

The three times I've been there, the staff bends over backward to do anything they can to help. They are current on trends,, can answer any question and provide a great deal of sage advice.

Its sad the last time, they were so apologetic for the hop shortage and their inablitiy to garner some varieties. That said, they were able to provide some alternative ideas and how to compensate for the beer we were making. Their malt and malt extract selctions are very good and they have them in a wide variety.

Pay attention when driving if you're looking for this place. I drove past it many times. It's just about 2 feet from traffic on Broadway. Parking...make it quick!

Nice little place. Homely feeling to it. The clear bins of grain is nice and for someone like me who is just beyond a 'starting' home brewer, it's good to see what everything looks like.

Very good service. Polite and anxious to see people interested in beer. That's me. Beer = good.

A nice place that I should hit more often. It's just that I live in the Highlands, and the Brew Hut has beer to drink. I promise I'll hit up this place more often!

This is a great place, and the guys there are really knowledgeable and willing to share. From the moment you walk in the door, you know you it's a very relaxed place. Don't mistake the relaxed atmosphere for lack of knowledge though. I'm only a handful of batches in, but the guys have helped me a lot. They are willing to listen, and offer honest critiques on your ideas. (I wanted to do a flavored RIS, but got schooled on just how long those take, and given other ideas that took less time/effort/gear). In addition, they make up their own recipes for "seasonal" brews that are usually named with the fun spirit of the store. They are one of the two places in town I hit the most for homebrewing gear/ingredients, and the one I go to mainly, honestly. I would definitely recommend checking it out for all levels of home brewers, from the novice who will be encouraged and inspired without feeling incompetent, to the all grain brewer who can hit the store and pick out his ingredients from the wide array that they have in the clear bins lining the walls.

This was the first home brew shop I had visited and intially I was really impressed with their layout, selection and exceptional service. However after I started shopping around I found Beer at Home to be a bit pricey than the other shops in the area. I still shop the off and on when I can't find a particular ingredient and I enjoy it every time. The staff always jumps up when you walk in the door offering the suggestions and expertise to aid your decision process. Good job guys it has always been a pleasure!

I love Beer at Home. I'm new to home brewing and I got started there with the help of Matt and Ben. All of my beers have turned out great, and I love to visit the store for advice, gadgets or more ingredients. They have such a passion for beer there that you can name one of your favorites and they can hook you up with the ingredients to replicate it. They will always take the time to answer all of your questions and make you feel at home. They never make you feel intimidated or stupid for asking questions.

I love Beer at Home. Matt and Andy really take the time to talk to you about your beer. Their advice is free and honest, but not overbearing.
They have a great selection of Malts, and never seem to run out. They carry every White Labs Yeast and several dry varieties. It's difficult to comment on the hop selection due to the shortage, but they have as much as anyone else. I'm not a wine guy, so I can't comment too much on the wine selection.
Overall, this is a great homebrew store with a nice atmosphere. I'm proud to call it my local homebrew store.

This is one of the homebrew shops that I frequent. It is about an hour away from Brighton but well worth the drive.

The first time I stopped in there was a guy named Matt working and I spent literally 2 hours picking his brain. He was an extremely nice and knowledgeable guy. I was telling him about a brown ale I had just brewed that had some strange off flavors, and he immediately offered to diagnose it for me. So a couple days later I brought him in a bottle and he did. He also gave me some great pointers on how to better my brewing. Needless to say I was grateful.

Their selection at this location is not as great as that of their Westminster store, but it is still not bad. They have a full line of fresh grains, yeast, hops and extracts. They also have a pretty good variety of equipment. If they don’t have it there they can have what ever you are looking for brought down from the other location within a day.

All an all this is one of my favorites. They usually have a monthly Frank Frenzy and brew-in that alternates between the north and south stores every other month respectively. These get togethers are a great time to meet other brewers and pick their brains as well as sample some good brews. Check their website for details.

Just along the side of the road on Broadway. I stepped and its a little different from the other homebrew shops. There's carpet and they have grains in clear containers, all neatly labeled with location, use, and which malting company it came from. The guys did provide some good advice. They had all the malts and hops I needed, along with some other equipment that I had wanted. It looks like its a do it yourself deal when it comes to the grains. The extract, they will pour out in buckets, but a lot of it is pre-packaged and ready to go. Some of the items I can get for cheaper at other places, but I'm more than glad to pay for the quality. Good little brewshop.
