A-Poured from a Tired Hands growler into a wine glass. Turbid golden straw color, inch of Meringe like head
S- You get a lot of earthiness, Wet Hay, Mustiness,Some tropical Guava notes as well
T- Everything you get from the smell, big amount of earthyness and tropical fruit. Ends with a zippy Lemon like tartness that begs you to take another sip.
M-Medium bodied, For such a low ABV the cereal grains play a big part in making this beer feel substantial, pretty low carbed.
O- This is maybe my favorite saison. There is a lot to like here. This beer is flawless and has a brightness to it that makes it infinately drinkable. I'm excited to try this one when it's being fermented in the Foeders at the new facility. Seek this out and cherish it

On tap at Tired Hands

A- pours a completely murky golden yellow color with no head and just a hint of quick settling lace. I don't think nice ever seen a saison this murky before, looks like orange juice and milk

S- aromas of earth and hay with lemon peel, a hint of tropical fruit

T- flavors of wet hay mix with some fruity notes of mango and guava, a hint of funk, finishes with a hint of lemon tartness with lingers of earth and must

M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a slick mouthfeel and finish, could use alittle more carbonation

O- as murky as this was, I'm wondering if it was from the bottom of the barrel, as carbonation felt very low as well. Great flavor, but everything else seemed a bit off

8 oz. pour into a tall pilsner/pokal like glass at the bar.

A nice colorful and creamy whip cream white one and a half finger head is presented that sits on a nice orb glowing lemon and opaque body. Not much to see carbonation wise, but the beer isn't completely lifeless looking or frozen. Quite attractive, like lemon meringue pie.

Soft hint of malts a bit and not much brett character. Some little light bread dough and hints of sourdough sensing quality but subtle. Spritzy carbonation and some carbon dioxide like lemon/lime accents.

Palate surprises since its a bit larger than the bouquet hints at. The first thing that strikes me is the mouthfeel. Creamy rich, dense, lush and coating. Big thick bakery bread dough on the swallow with the complimenting palate on the nose matching. Soft subtle yeast, nothing hot, some faint tropical character also.

Pretty good take on a saison, and much more easier drinking as well. Quite good.

8 oz. pour on tap at the brewery poured into their flute-like glass, unknown brewing/release date, drank over 30 minutes

A: 3/3 - bright yellow coloration; little clarity (cannot read through); small white bubbles arise from the depths and coalesce into with a head that settles into a 2 finger head remaining throughout the imbibery

S: 9/12 - some classic Saison notes here - lemon zest, wet hay and other barynard aromas, spicy/earthy; no detectable malts or alcohol

T: 16/20 - in the front of the mouth, there's an admixture of light citrus fruit and grass that reminds me of Saison DuPont; this continues with notes of rye, wheat and Belgian pils malt and some mild alcohol; finishes very dry

M: 4/5 - high carbonation; little-to-moderate body; again, some gentle creaminess from the additional grains (rye, oats and wheat)

O: 8/10 - a really nice flagship saison that hits all the high points of the style for me - citrus, earthy/spicy, dry finish and high drinkability; it would probably score higher if there was more Brett character, but I hate dinging beers for things that are not present; highly recommended!

TOTAL - 41/50

This beer will always be FARMHANDS, no matter what any other petty, inferior brewery might say.

I first had FARMHANDS on tap at Teresa's, before Tired Hands actually opened, but I revisited it recently on tap at the brewery.

Not much has changed since the unnecessary name change, but nothing really had to change. Hazy pour, pale, lightest of light yellows, with a small foamy cap of white head; moderate retention and lacing. In the nose, light grassy funk, mild citrus, simple but nice. Taste is similar, crisp, wet grass funk, light spice, apple skins, crackery pale malts, and hints of white wine. Light body, clean mouthfeel, pleasantly drinkable overall. To quote myself from the previous review: "Pretty much everything a good saison should be, yet light-bodied and mild enough to be somewhat more drinkable than a good number of its contemporaries." Very nice to always have FARMHANDS available at the brewery.

Accept no weak imitations, even if the names are so different that even a blindfolded chimp could tell the difference.

The beer has a spicy yeast in the front with bright citrus, lemon, and wheat.

The flavor follows of wheat and hay like saison notes. There's a bitter guava, citrus peel.

The beer is a hoppy saison with a wonderful grassy bitterness and coriander spice on the back.

On-tap @ Tired Hands Brewing Company in Ardmore, PA.

Light amber colored pour with a small head. Citrus fruit hop aroma with a slight funk. Nice balance with the malts and grains. Medium bodied and pretty mild for a saison. Paired well with a cheese and charcuterie plate.

A very good saison. I don't prefer this sort of saison, though. This take on the style was very citrusy and not very dry, but was, indeed, a very good beer, if you like that sort of thing. Good job, Tired Hands. I want to try more of this brewery's stuff.
